3 College Freshman

Scholarships: If the school gives you scholarship they decrease a portion of the scholarship if you quailify for grants/pell

Greek Life: Not many greeks are at the school

1 College Freshman

Nightlife: Nothing to do in Holly Springs

1 College Freshman

Campus Dining: No variety, the food is salty, nasty, and has a lot of lard cooked in it!

3 College Freshman

Academics: Rust does not have my major, I actually had to change to business major

3 College Freshman

Academics: Many of the professors aren't available doing office hours

2 College Freshman

Athletics: The school is not athletic appealing

3 College Freshman

Diversity: The school does not promote many diversity events

3 College Freshman

Weather: It's either too hot or too cold.

Off-Campus Housing: Some of the residences of Holly Springs are not friendly.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: There are no activities that mix the males and females. The dorms are always shut down and no one can have visitors even in the common areas.

2 College Freshman

Computers: I have a new laptop and the school's wireless connection is not compatiable to my system. So I have to purchase my own wireless in order to use my laptop.

3 College Senior

Athletics: A lot of people attend home games whenever we have one.

2 College Senior

Drug Safety: Just walking outside the library students are smoking marijuana and also while sitting inside their cars at night.

2 College Senior

Diversity: We are predominately black college with less than 5 whites or other races on campus but they are treated like family, but if you're homosexual you're treated like an outcast by students.

3 College Senior

Nightlife: Every Thursday night is party night and you will eventually get tired of seeing the same faces from school. Sometimes they are great but the majority of the time they are a waste of money.

2 College Senior

Weather: As of now it's extremely cold and when it's cold/raining everyone stays inside.

2 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Typical students do not dress for success until Thursday for aep class and once that's over it's back to the slouchy, thrown-away, thuggish look. The girls dress inappropriate with very small and too fitted clothes on which is very revealing. Hardly anyone adheres to the dress code.

2 College Senior

Facilities: If you're not GREEK you hardly get any praise.

2 College Senior

Facilities: Only thing available is the student recreation center which looks worn down in the inside; Feels like a high school.

1 College Senior

Parking: It's a must that you have a car on campus because they don't have student transportation unless it's time for a break or holiday and students need a ride to the bus station. Also there are very limited parking spaces and you must be on time and never leave until you are finished with class. Homecoming cars have to park on the streets outside of the school.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: If you're looking for scholarships it's best to go online and search for yourself and apply or print out an application.

3 College Senior

Campus Strictness: They do not allow visitation at all, and if you're caught sneaking in the opposite sex dorm you will be expelled and this applies for drugs as well.

1 College Senior

Computers: Library only has like 10 working computers, and you can only use a library labtop after 6p.m. The Other labs are for classroom purposes only and normally close after class ends.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Overall it has been good.

Since Rust is a small school with a population size of a little more than 1,000 students, students get one-on-one time with the teachers, and the classroom size is typically no larger than 25 students. This allows the students to focus and get extra attention. The workload may be heavy, but you have more than enough time to meet the deadlines. One thing that isn't heavy is the parking situation. Generally, there are plenty of spaces for students, probably because most students walk. On the other hand, if it's public transit you want, you won't find it here.

The small atmosphere, while helpful when it comes to academics and parking, can be stifling when it comes to the social aspects of the school. Holly Springs isn't ripe with nightlife like other college towns, so students have to seek out entertainment. Also, with small size comes small options—as is the case when it comes to dining selection. There's only one cafeteria on campus, and if it's healthy food you're looking for, you are out of luck.
