4 College Freshman

Parking: I do not have a car but my friends told me it was ok.

5 College Sophomore

Parking: The school's parking garage is most convenient in that it is 4 floors with plenty of space to park and also the school is currently in the process of building more on campus parking lots which will be a great addition. Therefore it's not necessary to look for off-campus parking spots to bother paying for when the school provides great parking.

3 College Freshman

Parking: There is a hefty fee to have a parking decal. The security is very serious about giving tickets if you park in the wrong spot. It is pretty difficult to find an open spot here on campus. Especially when there is any sort of event going on.

3 Recent Alumnus

Parking: I noticed on Mondays and Wednesdays the parking are always full. My sister works at Rollins College. There is a parking for staff and students park there, in which they shouldn't. The sign says Parking for staff and faculty. All other cars will be toad, but nothing gets toad, and she would have to find a parking space somewhere else.

2 College Sophomore

Parking: So unless you're an RA (which won't happen at least until you're a sophomore) you probably won't receive a free parking pass. With that in mind, to get your parking pass/permit its 75$ I recall. But make sure you have the right decal, someone could give you the wrong one and if you're parked in a spot that is TECHNICALLY allowed for you, because you have the wrong decal they'll just charge you for a new decal and the ticket. Campus security is very anal about parking and have no problem giving out tickets. When in doubt just park in the garage and walk the 3-5 mins. Its better than getting a ticket and trying to argue it because regardless you're probably going to still have to pay for it. After 3 tickets you're supposed to get booted. So essentially either don't have a car or just go to the garage. The ticketing really really sucks and is over 100$.

Mention parking to any Rollins student, and an angry reaction is guaranteed. Living off campus and driving to class is a huge inconvenience, and most students ride bikes or scooters to avoid the frustration. Most of the parking on campus is reserved for faculty, handicapped, or visitors. Finding a spot on campus is nearly impossible, and unless you arrive an hour early for class and have all of the time in the world to circle campus over and over again, then you are basically out of luck. Students who are running late for class and don’t have time to look for a legal spot will park in an illegal spot out of desperation. These students are lucky to come back to their car with a $35 ticket compared to a boot that costs $75 to remove.

There is a parking garage off campus on Park Avenue, but it is a good five-minute walk from campus. Most underclassmen that have cars at school park in the parking garage. Sophomores are allowed to park in the garage but not on campus, and juniors and seniors are allowed to park anywhere on campus where they can find a spot. Parking at Rollins is more of a hassle than what it is worth, and students are better off investing in a good bike or skateboard.
