4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: Unfortunately there are two primary classes of people at Rollins: those who are there because their parents can afford it and those who are there due to merit and loans. Due to this, some of the higher socioeconomic class individuals although they wear designer, their attitudes towards others that aren't as wealthy can be downgrading.

The students at Rollins are unusually good looking and well dressed. The girls are thin, well-kept, and dressed to impress. Girls typically dress up in designer clothes, even for class, and the guys are normally found looking groomed and preppy. Students definitely wear their wealth on their sleeves. Lucky for the guys at Rollins, there are far more girls than guys on campus. The girl-to-guy ratio is about 60 percent to 40 percent. So if you are a girl looking for a guy, you may have some trouble finding one who isn’t taken. The guys at Rollins are commonly known to be cocky and arrogant, and the girls are often said to be snobby, but stereotypes are stereotypes, and although many students fit the stereotype, there are always the exceptions!

If you cannot afford the designer clothes, purses, and jewelry, then you definitely will feel out of place because every day is a fashion show at Rollins. The way students dress may add to the "country club" feel of the campus. The student body is extremely attractive and appealing.

Social Scene
Rollins has an active social scene, and meeting students never seems to be a problem. With only about 1,700 students attending Rollins, it's easy to feel like you know-or at least recognize-just about everyone. People are extremely outgoing and always willing to initiate interaction. While getting to know people is easy, the problem becomes getting to know the same people almost too well. After a year or so of going to the same parties and hanging out with the same crowd, you get bored. Students need to step outside of routine if they want to keep their social lives exciting.
Hookups or Relationships?
Freshman year, weekend parties revolve, for the most part, around random hookups. At Rollins, commitment-free hookups are common and quite accepted. By sophomore year, however, people start to date more often. Relationships range from extremely short-lived and drama-filled to couples planning their weddings by senior year. Those who preferred the noncommittal hookups of freshman year will have no problem continuing this until the end.
Dress Code
Fashion is of great importance at Rollins. The majority of students dresses preppy, and nearly all those with "style" buy top-name designer brands. The stereotypical dress code for a Rollins girl on any given day would be a Lilly Pulitzer skirt paired with a Lacoste polo shirt, sandals, and a Louis Vuitton purse to match. Guys dress slightly more casual, frequently in jeans, khakis, or shorts and a polo shirt. Outfits for going out are often chosen well in advance, with stunning results. There are also plenty who could care less about fashion and go to class in their pajamas, preferring sleep to immaculate dress.
