Computers are completely necessary at Rollins. As far as having your own computer goes, it is recommended but not necessary. There are plenty of computers available in the library; however, they are usually slow and take forever to use. Printers are attainable in the library, as well. Each student receives 1,200 free prints before they are charged for printing in the library. There is an IT department in the library, and they are extremely helpful and efficient when it comes to fixing computers and answering computer-related questions.
Rollins has wireless Internet all over campus, which is convenient. Students take advantage of the wireless Internet by doing homework outdoors and checking email in between classes. Students must check their Rollins email frequently. Professors will periodically email students with important memos such as homework assignments, room changes, and class cancellations. Students are entirely responsible for checking their email, and professors are not very sympathetic toward students who missed out on important memos because they neglected to check their email. Most professors use Blackboard, a website with homework assignments and other class information, which is essential to stay connected to.
