Campus Strictness: The officials know boundaries but also know leniency.

3 College Student

Drug Safety: There are opportunities for drug safety but not mandatory meetings so participation is scarce.

Academics: It's challenging but the professors provide you all the resources you need to succeed.

Campus Housing: Campus is relatively small so housing is close to most buildings. Some dorms are very nice and some are old and not as nice.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a lot of students who can live off campus within walking distance of school. But those houses or apartments are very expensive and not all can afford to live off campus.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There are a lot of cases of underage students getting alcohol poison, and a lot of students do illegal hard core drugs. There have been cases of violence and theft. And i generally do not like walking around campus alone, ecspecially at night. Some non students will be on our campus, which worries me.

Greek Life: Greek life allows students to join a group of students who they can call their family. Greek life is very involved on campus and allows students to get move involved in school and community service.

Scholarships: If I did not receive athletic scholarship it would be to expensive for me to come to Rollins College. They did not offer a lot of scholarships and do not have an scholarships you can apply for. I am currently working with the school to get any scholarship possible, but its a hassle and does not seem to be going anywhere.

Computers: There is not good internet connection on some parts of campus and can get frustrating. When you do have good connection, it is fast and easy to use. There are many computer labs in Olin library as well, and tech support is always willing to help.

Local Atmosphere: Park avenue has many shopping areas and nice restaurants that many students enjoy visiting. Campus itself is very scenic and students are always out and about soaking up sun and throwing frisbees on mills lawn.

Campus Strictness: Some of the campus safety officers are very nice and respected on campus. Some on the other hand, are not friendly, seem to not want to help the students, and are not understanding. I would have to say there is good and bad, they are very strict, and unfair to the students sometimes.

Campus Dining: Love campus food! Sodexo makes good food and I really miss it when I'm away. I live for bagel bar every Sunday. I just wish the dining hall was 24 hours, but the C-store is open when the campus center isn't, so that makes up for it. Campus Chipotle is pretty good also and I recommend the sushi bar in the Campus center. They will make any roll fresh for you on their menu.

Campus Strictness: I've never had an issue with the campus being too strict. The RAs are chill and won't write you up unless you're dangerously drunk or have a bottle obviously placed in your room and reek of alcohol. Winter Park police are the ones to watch out for though. Also, in off-campus housing the neighbors tend to go a little crazy with noise complaints and call the police when they think things get out of hand.

Health & Safety: There is some theft on campus, like with any school, especially so close to a major city. However, it's nothing major to the point where I feel safe leaving my computer sit for a few minutes at the library etc. I feel comfortable being alone on campus at night and have never had an issue with campus safety. As long as you aren't throwing up drunk or belligerent there's no issue and they will give you rides to where ever.

Local Atmosphere: Living near enough to the Orlando metropolis is awesome for recreation, and Rollins is far enough away to be in a safe town

The general consensus among students is that Rollins has a way of growing on you. Most students who are skeptical about whether they made the right choice or not by attending Rollins realize after a semester or so that they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else. Rollins seems like another world, and the lifestyle at Rollins is far from realistic, as it can be very hard to grow used to. Perhaps it is difficult because everyone seems to be the same and everyone appears to be rich and to wear designer clothes. After a while, students learn to love the "country club" vibe that Rollins gives off, and they appreciate the beautiful campus and beautiful people. Rollins is such a small school, and some students consider its size a good thing, while others find it one of Rollins’s flaws. For academics, its small size is ideal. Students receive much more attention from professors and far more one-on-one help than they would at a larger university. Socially, Rollins being small is a bad thing. After a year at Rollins, everyone knows everyone, and gossip is hard to escape. At a school like Rollins, students really have to watch what they do and never make a mistake because gossip spreads like wildfire.

Rollins has a good reputation in the South, and it provides students with a great education. Not only do the connections you make at Rollins help you in the future, but they last a lifetime. Rollins provides students with wonderful opportunities and experiences. If you are looking for a small liberal arts school located on the water with interesting classes and brilliant professors, then Rollins is the perfect match.
