Career Services: RCC claims to have a very dedicated Career Services Department. I have not fully experienced their help/input at this stage of my college education. I am hoping that they will like up to their boasts and help me to locate and secure a better job in my chosen career path.

College Senior

Online Courses: I have not taken any online courses from RCC.

College Senior

Campus Resources: This is a career college. They do not have a facility with any extra activities. It is mostly set up to include class specific outlets. i/e laboratory. There is a small library available for some class resources.

2 College Senior

Campus Resources: They have all of the cutting edge technology, but the network is so slow that it seems to take forever to access a computer. Login takes a bit time complete and once on the internet it is ridiculously slow. Also, the online program that instructors use to enter homework and grades is not alway compatible with one or more internet explorer programs making it impossible to get necessary information for class.

Career Services: They will place you right after graduation!

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is VERY high, but it's worth the buck.

Career Services: From the time you enroll till the time you graduate the staff at the college help to prepare you for finding a job after you have your degree. After graduation though the services don't stop, the career planners continue to help you search for a job and help place you in the field you studied for.

Student Body: There are students from all walks of life enrolled and applying to the college, from different ages to different races the student body at Rockford Career College runs the gambit from a sixty year old woman in the massage program wanting to help with her husbands arthritis to an 18 year old boy wanting to become a computer tech because he is such a wiz at it and it comes natural to him.

Campus Resources: The college is a very course oriented environment, each of the courses has it's own designated area where the classes and sessions are conducted. From the business and paralegal rooms upstairs to the massage therapy rooms full of massage tables the college allows students their own space when working on their degree and it really helps to focus on what's important to you.

Online Courses: The online class is really great for me, you have a lot of flexibility on when you do your work assigned. For me, I work full-time as well as go to school so I benefit a lot from this.

Academic Experience: The vet tech program here is horrible. The teachers are all catty and rude. They don't care about the true quality of education. They take everything on a personal level. Oh and if you are over 30 and are thinking about this program, forget it. The teachers deliberately single out the older students, sometimes even humiliating the student verbally in front of 20 other classmates.

Academic Experience: They make the workload impossibly hard on purpose to "weed out" the students that aren't smart enough or have a strong enough drive in their opinion. Be prepared to be screamed at by teachers when you are a second year student. If you complain they put a note in your transcript and are what we students call "blacklisted." Completely unprofessional. the material the teach is not consistent. one teacher will tell you one thing, and a different teacher will tell you something completely different.

Online Courses: While the teacher was knowledgeable, the grading seemed a bit harsh at times. Overall, the online classes were much better than the traditional classes.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Hard to get a schedule. Nobody ever in office, availbel to see you. I also call in and they never see you in teh evening which sucked when I was a night student and wanted to get in right before class started at 530. Also, no Saturday appointments. They forget to call me back always. Otherwise, when they need me to do something, the will chase me down and make sure it is ready to go.

Academic Flexibility: The initial perception of the school was great-the enrollment team worked with me numerous visits until I was ready to enrollwhich was great because I was scared to death!!!!! The girls were informative and pleasant. Financial aid took awhile to get done but they seem on top of everything. However, I had issues with the scheudling with the program director who would put me in anything wihtout tlaking to me first. I went to the Dean (thats what they said at least) but did not get help. Later I went to the vice preseident because there was not a president-the ladies at the desk said he was dismissed. Many of my teachers were too. The program had been through a few directors as well-I have been in and out of school here awhile for med issues....there was some rhonda lady previously. All in all, I am going to chekc out Rasmussen further because their department manager is super helpful

Academic Experience: I love my professors they are always interacting with us , asking questions to make sure everyone understands and using real life issues to explain what we are learning . When I e mail my professors they usually get back to me with in 24 hours and some even give there numbers to you just in case of an emergency and that to me shows me that they want us to succeed and that they care about us . A lot of my professors give individual attention if needed. This school's professors are really cream of the crop and I love it !

Online Courses: I loved my online classes . My college made it so easy to understand how to use certain features in the online class . The professors were always there and always giving feedback . Plus , you can do it on your OWN time . Like if you get frustrated and just have to much to do , you can take a break and come back later to finish .Love online classes , always worth a try .

Academic Experience: Missing Good Instructors – So far my instructors have been great & I believe they are preparing me for the career I've chosen. Problem is, the program director that was in place when I first began didn't plan my curriculum correctly & now I'm faced with possibly another quarter. Also, one of the favored instructors has quit and I'm not confident that the replacement will be able to give students the knowledge & wisdom of the field that's required. The school should not hold back on part-time instructors that receive great reviews --- just offer them full-time! The Medical Department needs an additional qualified instructor in anatomy & phys.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Happy With Courses Required – The school doesn't seem to have a dedicated program director for the Medical Department. They've been through 2 since I've enrolled, and are missing key instructors in core classes such as Anatomy and Phys.
They need to hire on another full time instructor in this department.

Online Courses: Instructor Response – Got to say that the best part of the online courses I took was having Mr. Schutz as an instructor. His posts, class requirements and comments were most helpful

1 Recent Alumnus

Campus Resources: They Lack – They didn't have the equipment for us to learn to set up networks or build computers. We built our make believe computer out of parts we found on an auction site. What a joke. They had us install server o.s on crappy regular computers.

Online Courses: Only Took One Online Class – My last quarter I took one online class because it was the last class I needed and it wasnt offered. This class was not normally offered online. I believe it was a Network security class. I ended up with a C-. I actually should have had an F in that class but since I was about to graduate I guess he just let me through.

Overall Experience: It's a Ripoff – I graduated from this school in 2006 with a AAS Computer Administrator degree. They were called Rockford Business College back then. They don't guide you as to what you're really going to need in the real world as far as to get a job. The classes were a joke. Most if not all of my computer classes allowed us to cheat by taking a practice test which consisted of the test questions. I didn't get any hands on experience. They didn't help me to find employment like they said they would. I found a low paying job totally unrelated to my degree and I think they took credit for it. I have since gone back to being a c.n.a because I make more money doing that. I regret having gone to this school and now I'm stuck paying student loans for a crappy education that served me no good. I give it a D- instead of an F because I did learn to type.

3 College Junior

Career Services: So So – The post-grad services at Rockford Career College are moderately satisfactory. The college isn't big so there is not much expectation after you graduate.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Class Structure – The class times are not flexible. They usually only offer a particular class either during the afternoon or at night, not making it easy to put together a efficient schedule without spending the whole day at the college.
