3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The rules seem to be followed, so there is not much of a problem.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Discretion is the name of the game. Very reasonable.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: The campus security is pretty strict about things, but they aren't overbearing.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I think the campus strictness is perfectly acceptable. Many people party and don't run into any kind of trouble. I wish they were a lot more strict regarding noise on the week days.. I have only heard of someone getting in trouble for a noise violation once. There is usually a lot of lenience in regards to various policies.

There is quite a bit of underage drinking, but RAs, hall directors, and campus security make sure that things stay safe. The police do not really come on campus unless they are called. If students are smart, they can have a fun time without getting caught, but it's often best to play by the rules and be smart about your choices. Overall, people would say that campus is not that strict, although when it comes to things like grades and plagiarism, the administration really cracks down and takes those situations seriously.

As for attendance, it depends somewhat on the professor. Most will take attendance and calculate it into your grade. Others say you can do what you want and are responsible for making up what you miss and staying on top of things. Still, some professors are very strict and do not tolerate tardiness. Plus, classes are small enough that professors know when you aren't there, whether they take attendance or not. And, if you do choose to skip class, look out because it isn't uncommon to bump into your professor later that day, which can lead to awkward conversations.

Facts & Statistics

Students Are Most Likely to Get Caught...
  • Cheating on tests or homework
  • Drinking underage
  • Playing loud music or noise violations
Visitation Policies
Students are allowed to have visitors in the residence halls at any time, but they are responsible for that visitor and anything that visitor does. There are some rooms that remain empty and are available for parents or guests to rent at a cheap rate if they do not want to get a hotel room. If one student is visiting another residence hall after hours, the visiting student must be let in because keycards do not work for any building but your own after quiet hours.
