Facts & Statistics

Tips for Getting In
  • Be yourself!
  • Get involved in high school in a variety of activities. Ripon likes well-rounded students.
  • Keep your GPA up.
  • Take the SAT/ACT more than once.
  • Talk with the admissions counselors and ask questions.
  • Work hard at your studies and do your best on your SAT/ACT.
Things I Wish I Knew Before Coming To School
  • Greeks live in the residence halls, and it's a residential campus, which means no off-campus housing.
  • Ripon is a small town and a small school. Throw away the notions about big cities with lots of nightlife because that isn't Ripon.
  • This is Wisconsin. It snows. Ripon is a private institution and is not required to call off classes when there is a lot of snow. This means: NO SNOW DAYS.
  • You will probably need a job to help pay for either tuition or "weekend fun."
Interviews & Information Sessions
Ripon really wants to meet you, so the school does its best to be flexible and offer a variety of ways and times for perspective students to visit! You can visit during the academic year (September through December and January through April) for an individual visit. They base the visit on your academic and extracurricular interests. You can go to class, meet coaches and other faculty and staff, and eat lunch on campus. You can also take a campus tour and meet with an admissions counselor; you just have to supply Admissions with one week's notice. Ripon Days are select days throughout the first academic semester where you can take a tour, sit in on a class, meet with faculty, and enjoy a meal on campus. Ripon College Kickoff is another event for juniors to come to campus; there are two days to choose from, and while on campus, topics such as how to apply as well as the financial aid process are discussed. Lastly, WAICU Private College Week includes tours and meals on campus, and meeting with faculty and current students. It's an excellent time to learn about campus and what it has to offer.
Campus Tours
Campus tours are available during the week for those who call in advance to set one up. They are often individualized, and a student will conduct the tour. You can call (800) 947-4766 if you want a tour in less than five days' time. Otherwise, fill out a form on the website (http://www.ripon.edu/forms/visit/form.php) to let Ripon know what you're looking for in your visit and how the school can best help you! Or you can email adminfo@ripon.edu.
Overnight Visits
Unfortunately, Ripon doesn't do overnight visits. However, if you are accepted and come to summer orientation, there will be a chance to stay in the residence halls for the night!

Did You Know?
Ripon also has summer visits from June to August. You can take a campus tour and meet with an admissions counselor.
