Rider does its best to keep the campus—and students—as safe as possible. At 8 p.m., the gates at the main entrance close, so you must drive past Public Safety to enter. But, overall, the area that the University is located in isn't bad: it has a low crime rate, and nothing crime-worthy happens on campus. The Public Safety Department offers lots of services, including escorting students across campus so they don’t have to walk alone, crime-prevention programs, and Operation Identification, a program that helps prevent theft by giving valuable items a tag number, which can be tracked if something is stolen.
On the health side of things, there is a health center in Poyda Residence Hall. So, if you're feeling sick or need anything for any health reason, that's the place to go!
