Campus Strictness: They make sure to keep everyone safe and not to have any problems. Thats why the rules are the way that they are. They don't encourage this behavior, because when it wasn't attended to someone died. They laid down the rules in a non-agressive matter. So i'm fine with it.

Rider University’s Department of Public Safety and the Resident Advisor (RAs) can really get on students’ cases for drinking. The University’s first priority is keeping its students safe, so they are really strict about underage drinking, drinking games, and doing illegal drugs, and with good reason. In 2007, an underage Rider student died after drinking excessively at a party. His parents sued the University, and a settlement was reached. Rider has since raised the fines it gives to anyone caught underage drinking or providing alcohol to underage students. So, while some students feel that the school can be too strict at times, the whole goal is to keep everyone safe.

Every other violation on campus is assigned a level of 1 through 5, and punishment is determined by the level. For example, a student charged with a Level 1 violation could be expelled, while a Level 5 punishment is a small fine or written warning.

Facts & Statistics

Students Are Most Likely to Get Caught...

Visitation Policies
Students can have guests stay for two nights; it doesn't matter if the guest is the same or opposite gender.
Guests need to be signed in with the RA, and all guests need to carry a pass so the residence staff knows they are not a Rider student. If a guest gets into any kind of trouble while here, it's on the student host.
