3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few restaurants nearby, but I don't usually go to them because eating out is expensive and I get enough food with my meal plan.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I don't go out often but, when I do, there are always a variety of options.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Troy does have some decent restaurants and coffee shops. But that's it's only redeeming quality.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are several places to eat off-campus, including a few for late night take out.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Troy has lot's of restaurants in the downtown area including dinosaur BBQ and bombers burritos just to name a few of the big name ones. However there are many nice places downtown to eat ranging in price and quality. Some fast food can be found near by and just about every chain can be found within 10 minutes of driving, likely in Latham. Albany is a short drive and also has some great places. My favorite restaurant and cafe are both in Albany.

Pizza shops and Italian delis dominate the off-campus dining scene in Troy. There is a decent variety-you should be able to find whatever you want. For a greater variety, students usually hop in a car and head to Albany for some real restaurants and selection.

For the most part, off-campus food in Troy is the same as any other college town. The best (and most affordable) meals can be had at the pizza, Chinese, and deli places. There's nothing special or unique that would separate the restaurants in Troy from any other college town's food, with the exception of the Ruck's "wingburgers" and Troy Pub's home-brewed beer. If you can find someone with a car, the restaurants on Wolf Road in Albany are definitely worth the trip.
