3 College Freshman

Weather: The cold weather is what i looked for in a campus. But the snow or sometimes unkept campus make it a little difficult to walk around campus safely.

1 College Senior

Weather: Snow days are the worst because teachers will never cancel classes. This past snow storm was miserable and sloppily handled.

Ramapo College is located in the Northeastern corner of New Jersey, in the Ramapo Mountains. Weather at Ramapo does not deviate particularly from weather anywhere else in the state; there are cold winters, warm summers, and temperate autumn and spring seasons. Ramapo does tend to get more snow than other areas of New Jersey, not insofar as frequency, but in amount. Other sections of New Jersey may get two to four inches, while Ramapo will get four to eight inches. If you live in South or Central New Jersey, Ramapo's climate in the winter is probably colder than you are used to. Ramapo is also very, very windy, making it seem colder than it actually is. Students are advised to dress very warmly during the winter months.

During the warmer times of the year, Ramapo College is just as warm as any place else in New Jersey. Temperatures run from the high 60s to low 90s, and can do so in a matter of days, so students should bring a variety of temperature-appropriate clothing. Although most of the dorms claim to be air conditioned (and many are), the air conditioning on a room-to-room basis is inconsistent. Students should bring a small fan for warmer months in case their room has an air conditioner not up to par.
