Off-Campus Dining: The only problem I have with off-campus dining is that there are only a handful of sit down restaurants and a few late-night or quick options. I do wish they offered more student discounts rather than RU express because students who live off-campus usually eat off campus because it is cheaper than the ridiculously priced campus places. There isn't much variety unless you want to drive a few miles down the road for Cook Out and McDonald's. Costs aren't too bad, although it would always help for lower prices because we are poor college students. I think my favorite place to eat is River City Grill.

Off-Campus Dining: Not a lot of choices for off campus dining. Especially nutritional options such as vegan or gluten free. Many cheap and local options for college budgets.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus food is pretty good. Especially BT's and Benny's.

4 College Sophomore

There are many options available to students who want to eat off campus, from chain restaurants to privately-owned, intimate dining experiences. The different styles and types of food off campus suit almost every taste. There are also several options of every variety of food, with prices and quality being very good.

While there are many old standbys, such as Macado's and Sonic, new restaurants are constantly springing up in Radford. Sal's Italian Restaurant and Pizza has been a favorite for students to take a date and has been voted the No. 1 Italian restaurant in the New River Valley. Most restaurants in the area are within walking distance from campus, usually less than a mile. Others—such as Sonic, Sal's, and Hank's—are a bit farther, but easily accessible if you have time for a long walk, a bike ride, or a quick car trip. Prices are very reasonable, and often a student can spend less then $10 on a very satisfying meal.
