Academics: What I love about the academics at Radford University is the professors and the various study places around campus. The professors at Radford want the students to learn. They are more than willing to help students with hard material or concerns. Many try to learn the names of the students they have and remember them. I still am able to walk around campus and say hello to my chemistry and CORE teacher and them remember my name. The class sizes were bigger in my first year here, however, they gradually get smaller and smaller. This is one thing I love about this university. I feel as though I am able to have a conversation with the professor or class about what we are learning. Have the ability to know your professors and classmates makes it a bit easier to ask for help. The workload isn't too extensive, yet. One thing I enjoy about Radford's campus is the unlimited amount of places available to study. Young Hall stays open 24 hours and many of the classroom buildings are available until around 10pm. The library is one of my favorites besides Young Hall to study because there are many different areas and spaces to hide in with no distractions. It stays quiet and gives me a peaceful place to sit down and really focus on my work.

Campus Housing: I lived in a newer building with air conditioning, my own bathroom with my roommate, spacious closet and bedroom space. Always clean and had easy convenience to recycle, do laundry, and location to classes.

Overall Experience: I could not have found a better fit for me! I absolutely enjoy everything Radford offers and I will be proud to be an RU alumni.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Great dress, super outgoing and giving students. Willing to help and get involved.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Great food offered, just very slim choices. Prices are decent for actual food, however meal plans are way too expensive for what you actually get.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greeks are very involved. They have a stereotype of throwing parties Wednesday thru Saturday, but they do get involved to help back for the community.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Great options for off campus. Between being pet friendly, costly, location, all differ but they all offer something for everyone. All of them are located very close to campus as well so it is great for students to move off campus and gain their independence.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: Not a lot of choices for off campus dining. Especially nutritional options such as vegan or gluten free. Many cheap and local options for college budgets.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Campus is clean, with a great recycling program to keep our campus green. We also have new buildings on the way of being opened for more majors to grow. The scenery is filled with mountains and a river that makes being outdoors easy and fun to stay active.

4 College Junior

Facilities: Low on food options but besides that, we have a new athletic center and student center. Campus has two quads that are great for pick up soccer games or laying out to do homework.

5 College Junior

Academics: I am apart of a business fraternity that helps me network and gain great connections. I also have classes with my brothers and can easily find someone to help with tutoring or homework. There are also great club fairs and luncheons for business topics.

4 College Junior

Academics: Professors are great and know a lot! Also, a lot of options are available for study abroad or internship.

4 College Junior

Campus Strictness: It is strict where it needs to be. Drinking in dorms and drug use should always be a concern to every campus.

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: Our blue light system is comforting because you can see them every corner you turn. Also cops are always available when you need them.

5 College Junior

Scholarships: It is very easy to deal with if you listen to the counselors and get your papers in on time

5 College Junior

Majors: I plan to have an internship about 45 minutes away next fall. Not paid and only about two days a week. Options are limited in this area.

5 College Junior

Majors: We were just given a brand new building that is gorgeous, and there are so many social groups to be involved in with business majors!

3 College Junior

Parking: I am not really sure because I do not have a car on campus but from what I have heard, parking spaces fill up.

3 College Junior

Majors: I am a Public Relations student. My program is OK. I wish it was a little bigger though. My career goals are geared toward owning m own music label. The only concerns I have about finding a job in this field is based on the popularity and difficulty that comes with my intended profession.

3 College Junior

Majors: Getting into my program is not that hard. Just have to have a steady grade point average. The only difficulties I encountered was the use of the process. During the process you might have people who is absent one day or the other. Just simple things. No, Radford University does not have an abnormal application process.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The best thing about Radford is the family environment. Many students get along with each other. This also goes along with the scenery the scenery is so beautiful and calls for relaxation and ease. This gives most parents reassurance about their newly enrolled Freshman.

3 College Junior

Facilities: Student life on campus is fun if you go out and meet people. It will not be fun if you just sit around all day. It's what you make it.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Dalton, where everybody goes because it has a huge selection causes you to use the bathroom A LOT!

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: There's not a lot of things that college kids can do around the campus.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: If you're not part of a fraternity or sorority then you're not really important.

Radford University offers an incredibly unique experience in a small-town environment. The small size of the University allows for a much more personal connection with the faculty and other students. Professors make it their mission to create an engaging learning environment, going above and beyond when a student makes the effort to ask for help. Professors are more than willing to write recommendations, assist in classroom issues, and be fantastic sounding boards for academic advancement. The goal of Radford academia is to better the students at all costs. The social life is also a bonus of attending such a small school. With a small population, the majority of students knows one another fairly well. They party together, go to classes together, and spend quality time together during campus activities. The nightlife is a legend among the colleges of Virginia, and the parties are incredible. But, even if you don't like to drink until you can't stand up, there are plenty of things to do like bowling, playing pool or pingpong, or checking out a movie.

The town of Radford is small, but within miles of several hot spots for action. Virginia Tech is 15 minutes away, Roanoke is less than an hour, and there are several mountainous hiking trails and camping areas nearby. What it boils down to is that Radford University is a "what you make of it" experience. If students put in the effort to go to class and engage in out-of-class activities, their time at Radford will be incredible. The friends you make will be lasting connections that continue long after graduation. At the start of college, every student is handed the opportunity to make something great out of their experience, and Radford provides many tools along the way to help students ensure it is worthwhile.
