Local Atmosphere: As far as I know, its a fairly plain and quiet town. I don't leave campus often aside from grocery shopping or dining, but there are a great variety of stores and food places near campus. From what I've seen the local attitude towards students is very nice and accepting.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors and curriculum here are very good. The professors are very knowledgeable and have many years experience in their fields. The classes are structured so students have practice doing things they would be doing in the field or in their career, which I find helpful and useful.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There are very few encounters I've had with drug users or high students, so I believe the drug usage(or at least the visibility) is very low

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I don't go to any bars/clubs, so I'm not sure aside from the events held by the student activities, which are mostly very fun

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Aside from drinking and smoking(dry and smoke free campus), the campus is very lenient toward its students. Its easy to have friends visit, create new clubs, or miss classes if needed(for most teachers anyway).

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The school has a bus that takes students who sign up around town over the weekend. This makes it very convenient and easy to get groceries or other store-bought goods.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship yet

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I am very happy with my major(ECET). I enjoy working with electronics and the classes I take allow me to do that.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The health and safety of students is very important. the campus police are always on standby should anything happen, and anyone can contact them as easy as the normal police. The dorms also have health and safety inspections every month or so to ensure nothing bad is happening in any dorm rooms(its just a quick look to make sure its not a mess, they don't go through your stuff or anything)

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: There are a variety of sports and many many fun intramural sports to get involved in.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The dorms are very nice, 4 bedroom apartment like rooms with a common kitchen and living area. The people are all nice, and the staff is very helpful. The process involved in getting housing is very simple, as is renewing the housing contract.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The school has many scholarship scholarship opportunities, several you can get just for keeping a good GPA

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a variety of good restaurants and fast food places all within five-ten minutes of campus

4 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: Attractions near campus are movie theaters, restaurants, bars, casino, forty minutes away from city of Chicago...Activities consist of parks, workout places, bike paths, and dog parks. Cultural events are held at school. There are numerous shopping stores. Local attitude toward students is upbeat.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: To rent homes are available near campus and walking distance. However, since this campus is a university is also considered a community college. A lot of students commute to school. The convenience is great and the cost varies. Parking is manageable. Safety can be a little better.

4 College Senior

Computers: Computer labs are available, but there needs to be more. Printing on campus is available with a fee each semester. Network reliability and speed is great, including wireless access. You can use school computers or bring your own.

4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: The cost is affordable, the convenience is great, student discounts are available at certain dining places, there is an excellent variety, and best places to check out is Casa Blanca, Horseshoe Casino, Jelly Pancake House, Red Robin, Houlihan's, and many more.

Health & Safety: Recently, a crime has happened near campus and students where notified through email. The police on campus are not seen around campus a lot. They are mainly in their vehicles driving around campus or at their station. Anyone can walk on campus which affects one's personal safety. There is only two cameras outside of campus. I feel there needs to be more cameras on campus and the police walk on campus more instead of driving around. There are emergency phones placed around campus and in the campus garage which can be beneficial in case of an emergency.

4 College Senior

Drug Safety: The dorms do not allow alcohol is the building which has not been a problem with students living on campus. There is not any peer pressure going on that I have observed on campus. The only policy enforcement again is no alcohol on campus.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: I personally do not live on campus since I live thirty minutes away from campus; however, housing is very nice and spacious for those that go to Purdue University Calumet. The dorm buildings are a few years old. The housing buildings are presentable outside and inside. The cost to live in the dorms is reasonable for a student to live in. The location where the dorms are at is literally across the street from campus.

Computers: They're functional, and if you're not trying to use them for big gaming, you're not likely to run into any trouble.

5 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus is actually a pretty relaxed atmosphere. If you use common sense, you're not likely to get yourself into trouble.

College Freshman

Greek Life: Other than the beginning of the semester, when the Greek were trying to find new students, I have not really heard much at all about Greek Life. Sometimes they have booths set up in the student union building, but other than that, you don't hear much about them.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The suites look great and while it's probably nice to be able to cross the street onto campus, living in the dorms is rather pricey.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Finding a place close to the school is difficult and expensive - many people tend to room together, if they decide not to live in the dorms. Most people live in neighbouring cities. The area around the school sees a lot of crime, so it's difficult to imagine that people want to live in close proximity.
