4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: ON CAMPUS IT IS GREAT. Off campus and in the near vicinity is where students become anxious. The next street over is often where robberies often take place and even murder has occurred.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drugs are present but they do not rule the campus. Students can easily enjoy themselves without drug use. Policy enforcement is strict and peer pressure is low.

2 College Sophomore

Weather: This past winter was torture! The Midwest has spontaneous weather making transportation difficult over the winter but the campus handled it well and had the student's safety in mind

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Food options locally are average but the location near Chicago creates an abundance of cuisine diversity if one is willing to make the trip there. Overall it allows for interesting dining options.

5 College Sophomore

Academics: Being a psychology major with a preoccupational specialization at Purdue University Calumet is awesome. The courses are never boring. They are difficult and require a lot of dedication but in the end it will all be worth while. Homework often takes hours and papers are expected to be perfect but such high standards pushes you to do your absolute best.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus so I cannot relate but a friend of mine did and the dorms were amazing. Spacious and clean. They were apartment style and very cared for.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: It is mostly a commuter campus and I am a commuter using my own car so I cannot say much on this topic.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The student body is thriving with diversity which makes every class interesting.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The school does a great job with security and informing the student body of dangerous. This is very much appreciated based off of the locations often dangerous mishaps.

2 College Sophomore

Computers: The school provides an abundance of labs and computers, but they are so slow that often when using them you have to wait fifteen minutes just for the computer to log in the student and then another fifteen for it to allow approval of printing a document.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: The school has a good soccer team and the sports are supported by the student and staff. They are not on the level of Purdue University West Lafayette or IU Bloomington, however.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: Housing near the school is safer, but the farther away you live the more dangerous it is. Cost is expensive for students and often requires them to have a good job or even two jobs, as in my case.

5 College Sophomore

Nightlife: Nightlife is great due to the University's proximity to Chicago.

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: As far as I know, its a fairly plain and quiet town. I don't leave campus often aside from grocery shopping or dining, but there are a great variety of stores and food places near campus. From what I've seen the local attitude towards students is very nice and accepting.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The professors and curriculum here are very good. The professors are very knowledgeable and have many years experience in their fields. The classes are structured so students have practice doing things they would be doing in the field or in their career, which I find helpful and useful.

4 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: There are very few encounters I've had with drug users or high students, so I believe the drug usage(or at least the visibility) is very low

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I don't go to any bars/clubs, so I'm not sure aside from the events held by the student activities, which are mostly very fun

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Aside from drinking and smoking(dry and smoke free campus), the campus is very lenient toward its students. Its easy to have friends visit, create new clubs, or miss classes if needed(for most teachers anyway).

4 College Sophomore

Transportation: The school has a bus that takes students who sign up around town over the weekend. This makes it very convenient and easy to get groceries or other store-bought goods.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I am very happy with my major(ECET). I enjoy working with electronics and the classes I take allow me to do that.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not had an internship yet

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The health and safety of students is very important. the campus police are always on standby should anything happen, and anyone can contact them as easy as the normal police. The dorms also have health and safety inspections every month or so to ensure nothing bad is happening in any dorm rooms(its just a quick look to make sure its not a mess, they don't go through your stuff or anything)

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: There are a variety of sports and many many fun intramural sports to get involved in.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The dorms are very nice, 4 bedroom apartment like rooms with a common kitchen and living area. The people are all nice, and the staff is very helpful. The process involved in getting housing is very simple, as is renewing the housing contract.

4 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The school has many scholarship scholarship opportunities, several you can get just for keeping a good GPA
