There's not enough parking for everyone who attends the Conservatory
OUr specific major is Music Performance. I would say that SOme teacher's are very good but other's don't have any organization or idea of how to involve students.
They are ok. We have 6 Apple big screen computers and like 100 micrisoft computers and one computer lab with all Apple Mac's. Every classroom has computer projector, built-in screens, audio. Very tecnological.
If you want to be good at music, you have to practice. So all night you'll hear rehearsals, people practicing and concerts almost every day and sometimes movie night. Jazz students often play at clubs in Old San Juan, where is the partying place.
So far, no drugs incidents. New smoking policy is working really good.
We don't have a cafeteria yet. So you have to go out and eat or bring your own food and microwave it. It has worked well for me. But sometimes you kind of need a campus eating place.
Lots of fast-foods. You have Plaza Las Americas in 12 minutes distance (without traffic). Some great restaurants nearby campus (walking distance) with great food and student discounts.
Most of the students are puertorican, but we have international students since its the only Music Conservatory in the Caribbean. In Puerto Rico, we are a mixed race, so racial issues are almost nonexistent. We are very happy people, love to make some noise and celebrate almost everything.
It doesn't provide housing. You have to find outside the campus. One of the things students may need in the future since a high percent of the students admited are from all Puerto Rico and not just from San Juan.
Since this university doesn't provide student accomodations, you have to find apartments or studios nearby and its easy at walking distance. Plenty of buildings. Most of them you have to share rooms and sometimes a little expensive. If you find a place far, you can use the public transportation that includes the buses. It depends on your location that you may need more than one bus to ge to the university. Not so safe if you need to travel at night and alone.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
