4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: PC has a great alumni network, and the Business School has great career resources.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: PC's D1 athletics are very competitive and are a major part of campus life.

5 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: The city of Providence is a great city for college students due to the great nightlife and proximity to other school campuses.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: It is refreshing to know that I can order anything else out side of campus when ever I want.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The school is surrounded by different cliques, it is either the athletes, the minorities, the preppy, or the nerdy, however it does not affect how individuals act towards each other.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I have attended a few home games for our men ice hockey team and each time I have went, there are many people who come and support our team. It not only occurs with the ice hockey team but with all of our sports teams.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I have heard different stories about off campus hosing, it was either good or bad. I have heard people mention that they had no problem with their off campus housing and I also have heard how someone had broken into their apartment and had stolen a few things.

3 College Sophomore

Facilities: During my time in campus I have encountered students and staff that are very friendly especially when walking to class, I have heard from others that when they visited other schools their encounter with individuals within the campus was not the same.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: I surrounded myself with a great group of friends and kept myself active with events that the campus hosted.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Lot's of different options. A lot of Italian style. But there are other options as well that are great, J&W is a cooking school so there is always a great place to go if you are looking for good food.

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: People here all look the same generally. Girls wear designer clothes with tons of makeup. and guys wear pastels, khakis, and sperry's. Occasionally there are people who have their own style which I love to see. And athletes usually walk around campus in PC gear or sweats which makes athletes and non athletes easily distinguishable

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: PC made an initiative by awarding scholaships to enhance diversity. As an African American attending a Catholic school with Caucasian being the majority, I could tell that there was an effort made from when I visited and my first year as a freshman.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Students work very hard at PC. Academics are challenging.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Some professors are better than others. Some professors have no interest in keeping students involved or engaged but simply getting through the material.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: PC puts a lot of time and money into athletic facilities. We are the Big East Champions! Tons of fan support for basketball and hockey. Other sports (I play volleyball at PC) do not get much recognition or fan support so school spirit is very much limited. However all facilities are new and equipped with the new and great working machines.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Dorms are nicely up kept. Amenities are always working and usable. Social atmosphere is OK. Lots of the people come off as preppy and rich-girl type, but the students are all very friendly. Cost is ridiculously expensive.

4 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: We live right near the downtown area where there is a mall, near "Thayer St" which is a strip of shops and restaurant on Brown campus which is a short drive away. Also, federal hill which houses over 20 gourmet authentic Italian restaurants. Also, PC is surrounded by RIC, Johnson & Wales, and Brown, with Boston College only approximately a 45 min drive away.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: There is no difficulty getting into a major. It is very easy to switch all you have to do is fill out a form and get three signatures to change.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The classes are very hard to maintain an interest in.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I am not eligible for off campus housing until junior year.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The school strictness was great. Strict on alcohol and visitation but nothing much else

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Lots of preppy people. Everyone's generally nice.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Bringing your own computer isn't necessary but makes everything a lot easier. WiFi sucks so definitely bring an ethernet cable.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Great gym, great sports teams

Looking back on their time at PC leaves students glowing with fond memories. Most appreciate the stimulating academics and whirlwind social scene that PC offers. While the occasional person complains that it is too much of the same thing, a copious number of students say that they couldn’t imagine being anywhere else, and if they had to do it all over again, they would absolutely make the same choice to come to PC. The overwhelming majority look on their time spent at PC as a phenomenal learning experience that has helped them develop into the intellectually, emotionally, and socially well-rounded beings that they are today.

The brilliance of the education at PC is that it extends itself outside of the classroom. A student's experience at PC can be anything that they want to make it. If you want to focus on academics, you can, and you will find a group of people who feel exactly the same way you do. If you want an education in socializing or just want your college years to be the wild and crazy ones you’ve heard they can be, PC has that, too. Most students come to PC ready to work and ready to have fun—as long as you are open-minded, PC will give you everything you desire.
