1 College Junior

Facilities: It is just a building nothing more

2 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The school is very expensive and there is not much to show for the amount of money I pay each month.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Learning medical terminology, math (medication) human anothomy, are my favorite experiences the instructor was very knowledgable about each class she teaches. Definately would attend and refer someone.

3 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: It is a new experience, all classes are flexible 8am-4:30pm had no credits to transfer.

Student Body: Sorry, there is not a student body team present at my school (2013)

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Nursing, demanding, helpful and caring, advacate in the health profession

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: Physicial Therapy, Medical Assistant, LPN, the professors are available 24/6

Campus Resources: There is no campus activities, because this is an (compact) excelerating program, the student center? the lunch room or library is where I would do most of my studies. quite time would be after 5pm.

3 College Senior

Campus Resources: The library is where I can do most of my studies, it can be noisy at times, the internet service is ok. when it is abailable.

4 College Senior

Career Services: I have worked with five staff members whom, have graduated and working in this profession. Their graduation rating has been outstanding for the pass 3 to 5 years.

Academic Experience: PSI offer the Medical Assistant, Practical Nurse program and Physical Therapy Assistant training. Every curriculum have their own hallway with their set of classes. We all share the library and student lounge but there is not to many studerts in day time, so everyone is pretty comfortable. The process of attending PSI is fairly easy, just maybe a little long. You have to take a test to get into the school.

Academic Experience: Learning to become a practical nurse is something I always wanted to do. Being at PSI, adjusting to my learning environment, I find that the course load is pretty heavy but the teachers help you through it to break it down. I cant say that its not challenging but No pain, cant gain. Upon finishing at PSI i will be ready to enter the real world with a promising career.

5 College Senior

Student Body: I love my peers, everyone is here to learn. That makes it much easier.

Career Services: Professional Skills Institute is a great School, all the staff is pleasent and dedicated to getting us through the program sucessfully. Creating a life time of success is the aim.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The school makes it very easy to apply and helps with the financial aid area. The education classes could be completed online mostly, since all your classes are sitting for hours in a chair listening to someone read the printed material in front of you to you.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: This school has a reputation for being a respected college. They make sure that admission to that school is easy and convenient. They have strict guidelines to follow, but as they state, we are going into fields of great responsibility and should act accordingly on that note.

Student Body: My school has covered every possible lifestyle a student could have by offering classes in a different variety to choose from. Many different people are attending and they all work with one another to form a Group. With both the school administration and student body working together, it forms a wonderful place to earn a degree in a Medical field.

Overall Experience: PTA Program – I would not recommend the PTA program to someone who is not already a stronger student, that learns well from lectures & independent text reading. The lectures often seem rushed--read straight from notes/text w/ few actual teaching techniques utilized. The curriculum is poorly organized, with professional course work such a clinical documentation scheduled early in the first year, prior to students having any introduction to the type of care a pta provides. 98% of the professional course work over the 2 yr program is taught by the same instructor & two teaching assistants, so there is a serious lack of diversity and teaching style with in the program.
School policy is also an area of concern. Over the course of my 2 years there were multiple changes made to the grading and testing policies, with out warning, sometimes mid-grading term.
The use of technology is limited, and laptops a generally not even allowed in the classroom! This seems odd considering health field is required to be fully converted to "paperless" documentation in the next few years. With one instructor teaching the same course year after year, you would think they could create a web-base data bank for notes, syllabus, added instructional materials such as videos, demonstrations, etc. This would be especially helpful as the class room experience is generally comprise of students sitting in rows, viewing a power pt, while there instructor reads said power point from behind a podium! Good Luck staying focused--next 10 min. break only 1 1/2 hours away!

Overall Experience: Don't Go to PSI! Heads up to anyone considering attending PSI for their LPN program- DON'T. This school lets anyone into their nursing program, including a lot of people who have no legitimate interest in nursing and are only there because they get paid by the state to be enrolled in classes (and get huge overage checks as well). This school has ONE very small lab for ALL of the students to share, the lab hours are very limited, the teachers don't even follow their own rules. This school is LAX on many things and it hurts their students. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE AND DON'T GO TO PSI! ALSO- this school has about a 60% rate for completion of their LPN program. The program has four 12 week quarters, and at the end of our first quarter, 7 people failed. At the end of our second quarter, 12 more people failed. We started with close to 40. You do the math.
