3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Its a small town, so if you want an urban off campus dining experience you'll have to go to St. Louis 45 minutes away.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Each house has their own computer labs, while theres also a number of computer labs within the school buildings.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus really does a great job of making everyone feel safe and healthy.

5 College Sophomore

Weather: The weather is amazing, and since the dorms are relatively close to classes, even bad weather is hardly worth a fuss.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: The restriction of the religion certainly shows in the great quality of the guys on campus.

College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I honestly don't know what the off-campus housing is like. Everyone I know lives on campus - it's a small school, and it's so nice it's hardly surprising.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: The off-campus dining is passing, but not outstanding.

4 College Sophomore

Parking: I don't own a car, so I'm not a great judge, but it seems to be fine.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The atmosphere, the location, and the education are all excellent, but sometimes the education and the financial situation is frustrating.

1 College Sophomore

Nightlife: The nightlife is strongly discouraged for students on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The education is outstanding, but a lot of the times it can get really challenging and frustrating when you can't seem to keep up.

3 College Sophomore

Academics: Some of the teachers are past the point of retirement, and the workload is sometimes unreasonable. The turnover is slow. Despite all that, though, the education itself is excellent.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: As a school specifically designed for Christian Scientists, we boast a great deal of diversity in everything but religion.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: Because of the self-sustainability of the campus, students could conceivably go an entire semester without getting in a car. Field trips are all done in campus-supplied vans.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Principia College is really ahead of other campuses as far as beauty and eco-friendliness.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Drinking at any age is discouraged, and drug use is forbidden. In contrast, everyone is very friendly, and it creates an honest, safe environment.

2 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There isn't really a Greek-specific life on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: They provide a lot of scholarship support, but they didn't notify me that I wasn't completely covered until I was past due on a balance.

4 College Sophomore

Computers: Network reliability is high, speed is average, and they encourage every student to at least have access to the provided email system.

5 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: Drinking is strongly discouraged. Smoking is forbidden, and anything else is strictly prohibited.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Principia has rules against drug use, and most people follow it. The only drug you will find is weed, which a small amount of students use. Alcohol is generally more common at Principia, though compared to other schools is still very rare. As far a pressure, there is none.

Campus Dining: You'll Get Used to It – Many students don't realize how many options there really are at Principia College. There are always vegetarian choices to choose from, and the Dining workers are very considerate when preparing the meals. The Dining Hall is open all day so that students with difficult schedules are able to get food, and there is a C-Store available almost 24 hours, including the hours that the Dining Hall is closed. There is a good variety of meals here, as well as the availability of the Pub, which is a grill located close to the Dining Hall.

4 College Junior

Academics: Religious Liberal Arts – Since Principia College is a Liberal Arts College, it offers specific majors and does not offer some majors that other colleges might. The professors are all very interested in the subjects that they teach and really do work extremely hard to make it the best experience they can for their students. The campus is small, so it is an easy commute from class to class or dorm to class. It is easy to register and academic advisors make it much easier to make sure your schedule will be possible for you to follow without getting too deep in class work and commitments. It is possible to create a special major, but there is a process, and those who choose to do so are students who really care about that major topic. Popular areas of study are mass communications, math, business administration, education and biology.
