4 College Junior

Overall Experience: This school gives me the options to grow and succeed!

1 College Freshman

Scholarships: It is very difficult to find a scholarship for my needs, considering I am the most basic American college student you can find.

1 College Freshman

Greek Life: The Greek life is very slow here, with high prices and little value.

Diversity: You can pretty much find anyone of any race or culture here on campus

1 College Freshman

Athletics: No one in the regular student body pays attention to the varsity sports.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are basically small apartments and are great for getting to meet people.

2 College Freshman

Nightlife: If you're a party goer, then you'll find parties. I just takes awhile to find the good ones.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Although the off-campus food such as the food carts are of the highest qualitt of food, they are every expensinv

1 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Portland State says hey are strict about alcohol and drug use, yet they never seem to really crack down on the drug and alcohol use.

2 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Although I do enjoy the buffet style eating at the dining hall, the actual customer service need a little help.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The city of Portland, OR is the most open minded, welcoming city in the world.

Parking: If you know your way around the city of Portland, then it isn't too hard to find a god place to park for classes.

1 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: I have been berated for standing next to a girl in the elevator and making her feel "uncomfortable" because of my presence, but a buddy of mine got let off with a slap on the wrist because he was smoking and drinking in the dorm lobby.

1 College Freshman

Transportation: The only reason I decided to live on campus is because the bus system in the city is too wacky with lazy drivers.

2 College Freshman

Weather: The rain hits quite a bit, but it isn't anything too unbearable if you enjoy refreshing weather.

1 College Junior

Parking: Because PSU is in an urban setting, parking is at a premium. There are lots available, but depending on the time of day, spots may be all filled

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: I am at school to learn. Students get into trouble and off track to their goals when they disregard the rules. Most infractions aid students in getting back on track

2 College Junior

Guys & Girls: Students dress fairly casually in jeans, sweatshirts, t-shirts. Some look more professional in skirts, boots, button down shirts and blazers.

2 College Junior

Athletics: The student recreation center is fairly new and the facility is clean and up to date. It is located conveniently on campus.

1 College Junior

Scholarships: I have not received any scholarships or financial aid. The FAFSA has determined that my parents make too much money to qualify. But I think their system is faulty. My parents don't have tons of money to pay my tuition.

3 College Junior

Academics: There is a wide variety of courses offered within my Major. I have also selected a minor and am enjoying the course offerings available. I transferred to PSU from community college and the courses at PSU are much more varied.

2 College Junior

Academics: I have been pleased with the variety of courses. But using the online catalog is not easy. I have found several areas to each lunch and study between my classes.

3 College Junior

Computers: I have used the labs, especially for printing. included with tuition each quarter is 500 printed pages, definitely enough--unless you're writing a huge research paper or master's thesis

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: non-campus housing is readily available. Prices and lease length vary. Parking is typical urban setting, difficult to find and usually requires a fee.

2 College Junior

Weather: Portland can be rainy. But all that rain brings beautiful green trees and shrubs. Summer temperatures are rarely too hot, winter temps are rarely freezing.
