Student Body: It's a great school, I'm learning so much.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: They are late nights, but the scheduling was still the best option out of all the local ones in my area.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: It went smoothly, but sometimes it became tedious when they were calling almost daily with a request to fill out "just one more" thing.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: I like the fact that they are flexible and have day and evening classes.

1 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I feel it is way over priced and feel that I should have gotten a little more help with paying for the tuition being a single mother of four children trying to better my self and family with a better education.

College Junior

Campus Resources: I am enrolled and I begin on January 21st 2013. I have not yet started but will soon.

5 College Junior

Career Services: Our career center is great the offer one on one attention to every student and try there hardest to place every student in to a job. The placement rate is 82%

4 College Junior

Student Body: My school has a vast variety of students. The age range is between 18-45+ its very diverse and every one in your class works together to learn your trade and everyone is very welcoming .

Academic Experience: there are so many different things to do with HVACR.
Lectures on this subject are not....that boring....
The mechanical side of things are pretty easy,
The schematic drawings, those can be tedious, and interesting as well, they give you a lot of insight, helping you to correlate parts of operation in your mind to learn better the combination they provide

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Hallowed Halls of Education. The school is exciting to me everyday, i enjoy walking into the school, I know I will miss it when I leave. All of the instructors are nice people, Just like all other places, you have a variety of people with a variety of personalities.
So far its a nice balance.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Made Easy – the people I have dealt with ansered all of my questions,
responded in a timely manner,
and were always very professional.

They are there to help you.
And they provide the service you need, Just like anything else, don't go into it blind and you should do enuf homework to have a set of questions ready for them.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is a good staff at this school, knowledgable, attentive.
If you choose this school you will enjoy it.

Overall Experience: Porter & Chester Institute of Stratford, CT – Porter & Chester is a trade and technology school. I like it because it doesn't just always have you sitting in a classroom all day, they also have you doing hands on things you would need to know for on the job.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: A Great Choice – I happen to like my school a lot. During high school waking up in the morning was one of my least favorite things to do. Now I enjoy going to school every morning. I love that there is a lot of hands on experience and I feel like that helps students learn better.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think that the education I'm getting is really worth it. It will help me in the long run and I'll be able to build a better future for myself. I didn't think that it would be as expensive as it was and I thought I would get more grant money but either way I plan on getting it all done.

5 College Senior

Campus Resources: Work Environment – The overall work environment here is superb we work on real life problems wih real life cars. Not just some made up scenarios that other schools have. The benefits are awesome as well, we can work on our own cars and fix the problems at hand whilst still learning the trade.

5 College Senior

Overall Experience: I love my school! Its doing something that i absolutely love to do. Everyone there is freindly and all enjoy the same things which makes the environment much more friendly. All the teachers are skilled in the trade and know what theyre doing, and they make learning fun and interesting. Overall im enthralled about my choice and would deffiniately choose this school again if i could do it all over again.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: The Staff – Although I haven't begun the classes, the staff I have interacted with has been great. They have constantly been in touch with me to figure out the best class schedule to complement my work schedule. I haven't had any experiences having to transfer any credits.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Bigger Picture – The staff at Porter and Chester have been very informative about the process. I do wish grant and scholarship information was more readily available. I have been doing much research in order to compensate my financial aid. I know, ultimately, the education I receive from Porter and Chester will pay for itself once I have been able to start my career. It is always a challenge to find money upfront but I know the payoff will be greater.
