3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are various places like pizza place, fast food restaurants, and Mexican restaurants.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: The local football team is Pitt State Gorillas. One of the best in MidWest among colleges. And the stadium is in excellent condition.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I would love to have an internship in education. I like the pedagogical system, and I love working with kids, sharing the knowledge I gain in college.

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I love my college. I like working both with my professors and classmates. I want to work as a teacher of English language.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Shakespeare class is great with small plays in college theater

4 College Sophomore

Diversity: All students are open to different cultures.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: Roommates are friendly, our rooms are clean and comfortable.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Every boy and every girl is very friendly; they always can help one another. We all try to participate in various activities such as international gatherings, food and culture fair.

2 College Junior

Diversity: There is very little difference in the people around Pittsburg. With the exception of the international students, everyone is from similar areas. I wish there were a little bit more diversity.

1 College Junior

Drug Safety: There is literally no way that you can go to this school and not know where a party is happening. There are very few people that do not participate in a drug of some sort. I find this very unfortunate. Maybe if there were more dry activities.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The dorm atmosphere is fantastic. There is always somebody to talk to and always somebody that will want to do what you want to do. It may not be the biggest place or have the best perks, but I have met some of my best friends through the dorms.

3 College Junior

Academics: Although I love my major and my professors, there are a lot of people that look down on any major that will not lead directly to a job. It is unfortunate that the fact that I want to leave options open is preventing me from getting respect on campus.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: There was a lot of hassle and extra work that went into getting the financial aid that I needed, but there was always a helpful, supportive person available to help me out.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty big. There is a major section of the population that is Greek. That being said, you can still go out and enjoy yourself without being Greek. Being Greek does play a pretty essential role in getting positions in school sanctioned clubs which is a bit limiting to those outside of the Greek system. That being said, adversity makes a person stronger, right?

3 College Junior

Transportation: There is a bus that will take students to the essential places in town and a free service for students that have had to much to drink or are in a dangerous situation and need to get out of there. These are very nice to have, but sometimes it just isn't enough.

4 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: There is plenty of charm to go around. There is a perfect mix of small, home grown people and "big city" people. That being said, there are not a ton of options for activities off campus. Most activities involve drinking is one way or another. I wish that there were more options.

4 College Junior

Majors: The major options are great. All of the professors on campus are incredibly helpful in helping uncertain students to figure out where they belong. Most of the majors are fairly easy to get into, some are a bit harder. Some majors are also less helpful than others.

5 College Junior

Majors: The Psychology Department is the best. All of the professors are great. They are friendly, willing to involve students in decisions that will effect them. They also know about opportunities in the community and are not afraid to get students involved in them.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are many opportunities for off campus living. That being said most of them are not gems. There are a lot of landlords that end up being slumlords, charging way to much for rent, hiding things that are wrong with their houses, and not fixing the things that they say that they will.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: While there is a bit of petty crime on campus, such as bikes and computers being stolen, there is not a lot of crime. The police, although underutilized, are always there. The reason that police are more likely to give you a ticket than to help you find stolen property is that very few people ask the police for help to find their missing items however, there are plenty of cars parked in the wrong zone.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a few cute, quaint places to eat off campus, but there is not a lot of variety. Most off campus dining is either fast food or diner styles. While I will never complain with a diner, there are not a lot of healthy alternatives anywhere you go.

2 College Junior

Weather: There are giant potholes all over campus. This means that every time that it rains you have to swim to class. I know that there are worse problems to have, but I would like to be able to walk across campus without getting water up to my knee. Most other weather circumstances do not have much impact on daily life.

3 College Junior

Athletics: We have varsity sports, but some of our equipment and staff is subpar. The university is starting to remodel and add new sporting arenas. Good for the school, but I cannot help but wonder what this will do to tuition.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Computers are in the library, and I usually find one for myself to work if I do not have my laptop with me.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A lot of opportunities for international students to represent their country. There are events specially for international students.
