Student Body: The student body at Pine Tech is actually quite diverse. It varies from PSEO students to parents coming back to school to older adults. There is also some ethnic diversity because some of the programs draw students in from the Twin Cities.

Academic Experience: I am a nursing major, and my classes are what I expected them to be. However, the nursing program has set classes, and you need to adjust the rest of your life (work and personal) in order to get to class. Also, we are held to a higher academic standard. While an 80% is a C at the rest of the college, getting below 80% is failure in the nursing program.

Academic Flexibility: In general, most of the classes offer more than one time to choose from to attend and offer evening and sometimes weekend classes. However, the nursing program is very rigid - the schedule is set, and I have had to change my personal and work schedules in order to accommodate going to class.

Academic Experience: There are a lot of classes and programs offered, especially for a school in a more rural area. However, I am giving it an A- because I wish they had more online offerings.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The Financial Aid office is Awesome. Shawn and Amanda are always willing to help you out with anything you need in this area.

Academic Experience: The professors are very good at getting grades up. The school has higher standards for us nursing students our C's are 80% and that is the minimal grade you can receive.

Academic Experience: I wish the instructors had more one on one time with the students. The campus is fairly small so you'd think there would be a little more time to spend with students; however, it's hard to sit down with an instructor if they have another class starting soon, etc. Whenever I've personally asked an instructor for help, they've been more than happy to schedule a time to sit down and work with me though.

Academic Flexibility: The staff worked really hard to work around my High School and work schedule. It was nice knowing that I could do college classes, finish high school classes, and go to work all at the same time without being too stressed! The staff was very helpful and had me all set to go before the fall semester even started! :)

Campus Resources: Our computer lab doesnt seem to be big enough, we have to pay for some copies and the printing sysem is down a lot.

Online Courses: I've only taken 1 online course so far at this school. They make it really easy to pass with a high grad, with minimal work. I could see how some students wouldnt get what they needed out of the class.

Career Services: I have not graduated yet, I will in May of 2013, with my LPN. I plan to see what my school offers on job placement, but I have not heard from recent grads about the school being helpful in this way.

Academic Experience: Currently I am enrolled at PTC, and I love the school. Their teachers are the down-to-earth friendly type and they'll stop you in the hall just to chat. Their Desire2Learn online feature is amazing and keeps me connected with class instructor, as well as fellow students. All around its a fabulous school. :D

Campus Resources: Everything is laid out quite well, the only issue I have is the computers based on campus are slow and not quite up to par, but that is why i use my laptop. the network reliability is excellent. the only problem is the usual when too many people are on at a time it slows down, not so much that it makes things impossible though

4 College Junior

Online Courses: They have it well organized and those teachers that use the system have it down really well. There are tutorials if needed that walk you though every step.

4 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I think the aid office is great. They are more than willing to help you anytime. They will answer your questions whenever you have them. They post scholarships on the website and promote them at meetings, etc.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: The computer network has been very good and I have not had any problems. The staff in the computer lab are always very helpful

Career Services: I am still in college and I don's see that I will have difficulty finding a job in my line of work which is nursing.

4 College Junior

Online Courses: It was my first time at taking a online classes and I found it to be vey time saving. I t was nice not to travel on those days of school as I am an independant student.

Career Services: Job Prospects – Pine Tech has many resources to help you find jobs as well as work study programs. They email every student with any new opportunities they receive. They also have a dislocated workers program right inside the school and a career center to assist you as well.

5 College Junior

Campus Resources: Campus Activities – Pine Tech offers mini workshops for free to all their students. These workshops include things to help a student not only at school, but also to help them manager their stress and lifes outside of school to make the students life just a little better and a little less overwhelming. I personally have attended mutiple workshops myself and have enjoyed each one immensely.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Great Services – There is very good job placement in the gunsmithing department. The school also keeps in touch with alumni to gather job information and invite them to participate with the school.

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: There is a large library like room with computers for internet access for your use any time. You also get to use quality tools and machines for your projects, using these types of machines is not available in many schools.

4 College Junior

Campus Resources: Great Community and Unique Curriculum – my school has a great community, everyone tends to get along well, leading to an inviting learning environment. You also get to learn all sorts of useful, everyday, skills. These skills include, welding, soldering, wood work, and machining. This allows for many opportunities in different fields.
