College Freshman

Athletics: We don't really have sports so we have no fans or athletic facilities.

Overall Experience: Foundation year is a trial year where everyone decides if this is the place for them. Personally, I can't say much about my major since that will be for next year but it is a good environment and most of the people there have our bet interests at heart.

Weather: Unless it's a lot of snow, the weather is pretty good.

Drug Safety: If we're talking smoking cigarettes then it is very bad because everyone is smoking outside even when there's a no smoking here sign. Even the guards do it!

Computers: Laptops are usually with everybody and tech support is always helpful. The network is good but printing is confusing sometimes with the systems and it really is a pain.

Nightlife: I don't live there and there's only one party by the school. That is good and fun and vibrant.

Guys & Girls: Everyone has similar interests but everyone varies. Everyone is relatively nice and friendly but cliques are still present.

Majors: Foundation year is putting everyone together in a variety of majors that don't branch into the fields we're curious about. We don't start the real learning process until we're in sophomore year.

Majors: I don't know because we aren't in our majors foundation year.

Health & Safety: No one really handles the situation of theft seriously but overall okay.

Academics: Since it's foundation year, many students are undecided so the school lumps everyone together in all the major courses or so. It's annoying but for those who don't know what they want it helps though not by much.

Academics: They pile work on you but you do have time. It's just whether your personal life suffers or not.

Off-Campus Housing: I love having my own apartment. It allows for much more freedom than a dorm. I get to have a full kitchen and can have my own space too.

Local Atmosphere: I love this city. It has a growing art scene. All the local artists and art appreciators come out for First Friday & Music Fridays. There is even a website for all of the local events.

Drug Safety: Most students use drugs here, but it is not seen on school property. Almost every student smokes and drinks. Stronger drugs are sometimes used at their homes.

Computers: The school offers Mac Computers because the software is better to handle image processing.

Weather: Sometimes the college is cancelled by snow or gets delayed, but that is normal for Pennsylvania weather. It does not affect anything very much.

Campus Dining: The school has a few vending machines to offer students if they are hungry. There is no meal plan. Students must supply their own food from home or go out and buy it. The school has a refrigerator and microwaves available.

Transportation: I lived 2 miles down the same road that the college was located on last year. The school boasts about it's "ride home program" for students who need a ride home in the city and don't feel safe walking. They decided to not include my apartment on that list of where it would drop off students.
