4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Class sizes are relatively small and all the professors are willing to help you in any way they can. Courses range from easy to challenging.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: A degree from pennstate is highly regarded. Penn State has one of the largest alumni networks in the country.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Dining: There is not a huge variety for late night meals. The pizza is phenomenal. Value is excellent if you have a meal plan.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Penn State football is huge. There is a huge amount of school spirit. Almost everyone attends the football games at University park

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Being a small campus, everyone looks out for each other. There is little to no crime that happens.

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Being a member of one of the three fraternities on campus, I can say that we treat everyone with respect and usually allow people to join in on parties, but the brotherhood and things we do for the community would make me tell anyone to consider becoming part of a greek organization.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: The campus is going to being more green, the facilities are all very modern with a extremely up to date technology.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are many off-campus apartment complexes and town homes available. Many have ample parking and many amenities.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: Everyone know basically everyone else. The campus police and RA's all have a job to do, so they can't be too lenient.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: There are students from almost every corner of the globe. They are all accepted and have zero to littles challenges in making friends and striving at the school.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The majors available at this campus are not large in numbers, but many students transfer to University Park where you can pursue almost anything you want.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I am receiving the necessary classes to transfer to university park. The work load and curriculum are at sometimes stressful, but there are many students and tutors willing to help you excel in any class.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: Since the school is fairly small, most of the people are extremely nice and welcoming. Everyone enjoys making new friends and acquaintances.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Penn state Harrisburg is located in Middletown, Pa. It's a relatively small, but growing community with few options.

Scholarships: Get all the paperwork and necessary things done early incase you run into issues

4 College Sophomore

Greek Life: There a few options regarding greek life and it is not that easy to get into it.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: A lot of things are a good distance away but are good places to get food from.

Nightlife: Parties at this school consist of people standing around in one of the off campus apartments and drinking. All people do here is hookup and complain in their cliques. You see the same faces an do the same things every weekend. It is pretty boring here on the weekends. Students need an opportunity to bond and relate with others and even if given the opportunity they are on their phones snaphatting with people somewhere else.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Overall this school offers a sub par experience in terms of nightlife and food choices. While there are some terrible professors, most seem very passionate about their area of expertise. There are attempts at expanding, they won't be complete for another few years.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Because the school is Penn State, the value of the degree is tremendous due to reputation. There are plenty of opportunities for students to network and meet with employers.

Off-Campus Dining: This town does not have much to offer in terms of food. There is one local pizza place near by which is pretty good and one Chinese restaurant which is subpar. The local Giant has great Chinese food however and is open 24/7 for any late night munchies. Those are your options if you don't have a car. If you have a car, the neighboring town has a few interesting places and lower swatara has a shopping mall with really good chain restaurants. Harrisburg doesn't fare much better than the town, though they have plenty of bars. This part of PA doesn't make organic or vegan options very available. Though there are some farmer's markets nearby as well as the Farm Show Expo every year in January.

Off-Campus Housing: There are three major apartment complexes that students live in: Campus Heights, Pineford, and Nittany Village. I have only experienced two

Nittany Village (my bf lives here)

Pros: Lounge areas, amenities such as dish washers, trash chute, safe and secure building

Cons: Small apartments and rooms, only has camera in laundry area, there are "RAs that are supposed to assist you but they are rarely available.

Campus Heights

Pros: friendly and helpful staff, large apartments and bedrooms with two different floor plans, pretty nice furniture

Safe and secure building (cameras everywhere and key fob entry)

Cons:cheap building materials that damage easily (i.e paint, floors fake granite countertops) There are currently no lounge places for tennants, but new buildings are being constructed that have lounge areas and will be finished fall 2014

Local Atmosphere: The school is in Middletown, a town in close proximity to Harrisburg. Middletown in a rundown town that only has grocery stores, wine and spirit shoppes and several small retailers. This town is a far cry from the college town surrounding nearby Elizabethtown. There is nothing to do on weekends, as a result, many students go home every weekends. Harrisburg doesn't fare much better and is a really sketchy place. If students don't go home, they flee to main where there are endless things to do. In the past year, the owners of apartment complex for students has begun to provide events such as trivia night on Thursdays during the spring semester and a "block party" at the end of the spring semester. It's not much, but its a start.

Greek Life: There is only one fraternity and one sorority at this school. Consequently, they have very little impact on the social scene here, which sucks anyway. However, they are attempting to increase their presence on campus through events.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: The workload for my specific major is hectic, but if you take your time you can get it done.
