College Freshman

Greek Life: I'm rather indifferent/don't know much about the Greeks

3 College Sophomore

Greek Life: Rumors of hazings are disconcerting. You would think Greeks would learn by now.

1 College Sophomore

Greek Life: They think they're the coolest people. They aren't. This is college. Not high school.

3 College Senior

Greek Life: Greek life is not very well-known. There are a few, but I do not hear anything about them like parties or their community service.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: The Greek life isn't as great as it sounds on paper, I am yet to see any difference they have made to the community or college. The are responsible for drunk driving around the area.

A lot of times their parties are busted and usually people smuggle drinks and move on from the party.

The girls in sororities are considered hot and are talk of the campus, some guys in frats are good too but there isn't a awe in any campus student for them.

Ironically even with the Black population that exists in Altoona, we do not have a black Greek life, we do not even have many black's, if any in the frats.

The Greeks at Penn State Altoona have a decent presence and organize a great deal of mixers with new recruits, but by no means is Greek life a big deal on campus. There are no Greek houses on campus; instead, members of each frat and sorority rent houses off campus that are not affiliated with the school and are not official Greek houses. These houses are far from campus and are fairly rundown, much like most houses that are rented to students.

Overall, the majority of campus doesn’t show much interest in the Greeks, mainly because the number of Greek students is very small in comparison to the entire student body. However, students say some groups are cliquey and snobby toward non-Greeks.
