4 College Senior

Academic Experience: the college are there i like it but there are some courses they not offer and i have to transfer to take them to university.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: in certain area they are average

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: There are not many school clubs or programs to join.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: At my school people don't normally get their bachelor's degree, although it's offered, because it used to be a community college and didn't offer them at the time. Most people get their aa here and transfer to another school. Since it's only an aa people usually wait to start they're career and just hold a temporary job to get by.

3 College Freshman

Academic Experience: Class registration was too difficult for the classes they offer. It was extremely difficult to even be able to sign up for classes. Regitration should be a lot easier for returning students, not harder.

Academics are serious at Palm Beach State College. You get out what you put in. Classes are challenging and rigorous, especially the math and science courses. Teachers want to ensure that each student is knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics. While some classes may require more intensive work than others, they are all aimed at preparing students for higher educational opportunities and providing employment training. Some teachers may be given the stereotype of "easy" or "hard," but it all depends on the individual student's strengths and weaknesses.

Summer classes are intensive. This is only because instructors have to cover the same amount of information as they would in a 16-week semester in a shorter time. These classes may seem overwhelming to the less-than-serious student. Otherwise, teachers are sure to expose students to as much as they possibly can while they are together. In addition, teachers aren't looking to fail students. They want to do everything reasonably possible to guarantee student success.

Class Sizes
Average classes have about 23 students. The limited class size promotes more formal learning and educational nurturing. Even smaller classes are provided through the access limited degree programs and the Honors College.
Student/Professor Relationships
Teachers and students develop deep relationships at Palm Beach State College. One student may find a maternal connection with an English professor, while others finds mentors and advice gurus. Even long after students have graduated from the college, they still return to see the teachers and instructors that they so deeply care for.
Testing & Grading Procedures
Tests and grades are weighted differently for each professor. Although there isn't a uniform method for these calculations, students can guarantee their instructors are well-versed and professional because they are all required to undergo a class examination that is administered by one of the dean of students.
Typical Lecture - Single Day
Lectures can be done either in or out of the classroom. Instructors may lecture in front of the class and on the board. Other methods of instruction include in-class projects and assignments, videos, and guest speakers.
Typical Course - Start to Finish
A typical course would consist of going over the course syllabus and instructor/student expectations, taking notes and completing assignments, possibly attending an out-of-the-classroom seminar or event, periodic grade calculations, receiving graded work, and participating in alternative learning activities.
