4 College Freshman

Parking: You don't need a car on campus unless you live in Mcreynolds or Nichol Hall, or if you are in aviation

4 College Freshman

Facilities: Overall the facilities at PUC are good. The library and campus center are nice and are good places to hang out.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The financial aid at PUC is pretty good. They understand that it is somewhat expensive to attend school there and try to help you as much as they can.

Off-Campus Housing: It is almost impossible to live off-campus. PUC is isolated on a hill and off the hill, almost everything around is wineries and hotels or bed and breakfasts; not many places to live.

Guys & Girls: There is a good variety of people on campus. The people here are pretty attractive, smart, and outgoing

Overall Experience: PUC is a good school. The academics, social life, and community are all great. The main negative is the location.

Campus Dining: The food at PUC is average. A huge negative is the fact that they don't serve meat at all on campus, because of the religious affiliation. There are only about three options for lunch and dinner and generally one option for breakfast and late dinner.

3 College Freshman

Academics: For my specific major it is not great here. They recently added a new major, History, Political Studies, and Ethics, which acts as their Poli Sci major. The History Department is good and so are the professors. The curriculum is also good.

5 College Freshman

Academics: The overall academics at PUC are great. They have great professors and the registration process is super easy. Also, you almost always get the classes you want. PUC is great for any type of health major.

Greek Life: There is no Greek life at PUC and it is not allowed on campus.

3 College Freshman

Parking: The parking permit was free for Freshmen this year which was great, BUT Freshmen parking is HORRIBLE. The three lot options are all far from the male dorms. The good thing is you can park wherever you want from Friday 1pm- Sunday 5pm.

Transportation: You NEED a car if you live on campus. It is isolated on a hill, which takes 10-15 minutes to drive up. The closest city is 15 minutes away but is more like a small town. Napa and Santa Rosa are the closest average sized cities and they are both about an hour away. There are no campus shuttles or bus stops but the Student Association occasionally takes students to places on weekends for free.

Campus Housing: The campus housing at PUC is overall average. The buildings are old and the rooms are pretty small. There is a curfew time (for those 20 and under) and there are room checks so that's a downside.

Health & Safety: PUC's campus is very safe especially because it is isolated on top of a hill.

Diversity: The diversity at PUC is really great. You can find people with many different backgrounds and from many different places.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletics at PUC are overall pretty good. Many people attend the games but the teams themselves aren't amazing.

3 College Sophomore

Athletics: Varsity and intramurals are looked up to, but me personally i dont really dwell in that spot light. I like to play a couple games of basketball with my friends here and there, but im usually just the one that performs at half time then leave (sad to say). But our gym could use some renovation, i would say it isnt even good quality for the athletes.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: i cant tell you much about most of these facilities, for i have only really gliimpsed at them. what i did see though was a spectacular space for a student in that area of field work. the library has 4 floors, and 3 years ago was renovated complete with update computers (both pc and mac) specific group study rooms, single study cubicles, and a penthouse (not exactly sure what that is used for). In the Visual Arts department, we have multiple studios, multiple labs all up to date with software, cleanly a environment and so forth. Honestly, I don't think there is anything more that could be done to make us more comfortable and drive our imaginations wild. As far as traditions, if it is someones birthday people like to throw them into the water fountain in the center of the school (amazing right?) and their are vespers every Friday (church youth gathering) at about 8 to bring in the Sabbath.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: The school pretty much tries to get you what you need to stay a full academic year, but if your not paying attention they might sneak up with some loans that you really dont want. My suggestion is to hit the books hard freshman-senior year, so that you have a way easier chance of getting scholarships and pay your tuition for you instead of having to take out loans that could potentially end up destroying you in the future.

Nightlife: Pacific Union College prohibits the party life. There is to be no form of alcoholic beverages or drugs taking recreationaly, because chances are you will be expelled. But this does not mean that there aren't things to do. PUC is located on top of a volcano/mountain, so it is far from the city. here the night life is gorgeous; the night sky is painted, and the lights around campus makes it seem like its Christmas time every night! And everyone knows that Christmas is the Best time of the year! PUC also has the "Grind" which is a place where students can hang out, choose from a variety of snacks, drinks, and specialized drinks (coffee, italian sodas, etc) watch TV (more than one mounted) play pool, ping pong, or simply drape across couches. There is also the Gym, where alot of students go to play sports such as basketball or volleyball. Other than that it is quite peaceful up on the hill. A few might dread it but, a majority of the students admire the appeasing ambiance of the college and its location.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: I have never encountered a problem with them, but they seem very helpful and willing to help a student.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: The rooms are very large, but the only thing is the bathroom are community and we have to walk down the hall to use them.

Health & Safety: Pacific union is a very big campus, but everyone is very friendly. It is also a small town and everyone knows each other, so any weird activity does not go unnoticed.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: I attend a christian college, so I love the spiritual surroundings and activities. The only bad thing is how expensive this college is. But hey every college is expensive

Campus Dining: PUC is a vegetarian friendly school so we do not serve meat at all. It has it's perks because it gives a variety of different types of foods. However, because it is a vegetarian school it is a hard to get in the meat fill if you are not (like I am not a vegetarian) and the food after a while becomes tiresome.
