Academic Flexibility: There are many classes available during the morning, day, and evening. If you can't find a class that meets your schedule at Oxnard College, you can probably find one through Ventura College or Moorpark.

Tuition & Financial Aid: Community college is becoming expensive. The BOG waiver is extremely helpful for students struggling financially. Mid-way through the spring semester a financial aid workshop is available if you need help to fill out your FAFSA.

Academic Experience: Classes are usually full during registration. It's often difficult to register for a class you need because there are many students and too few classes.

Online Courses: My online classes were hybrid, meaning that we met in class, but had some work online. The website used for online classes is pretty easy to learn and use. Discussions are usually mandatory for online classes, so students need to post on the discussion board and reply to others. You can contact your professor through e-mail using the web service so if you have any questions you can discuss it with them.

Student Body: Students on campus are friendly enough. Sometimes it feels like there can be a barrier between students, but you just need to open up and talk more. There are clubs that meet on campus, that's a good way to interact with others.

Career Services: I'm not even aware of the post-grad services available at my community college. If I need to find out information regarding that topic I would probably visit a counselor.

Campus Resources: If you don't make connections with other students, faculty members, counselors, or any other human being it's hard to access information and become a part of the college because a lot of the knowledge acquired to make Oxnard College a positive and high-quality educational experience relies on communication from others.

Campus Resources: There's Wi-Fi available all over campus. The internet speed is so-so. It can definitely lag at times, but pages load at a reasonable time. The Learning Resource Center (library) has a lot of computers available for students. There's a printer, scanner, and copy machine in the library as well. Also, in the Student Services and Administration Building there's a couple of computers and a printer that students are free to use. Too bad that you need to refill your print card with money at the library.

Online Courses: The professors are vey student oriented, and the teachers are very personable.

Facilities: Campus life is very busy. I really enjoy the child development program. Some of the facilities are a little out dated

Academic Experience: My major is Child Development, my school's labratory had wonderful intructors and I had fun working with them in my class.

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Teachers are very straight forward about what is expected in their classrooms, curriculum is very understandable, class registration was very easy to follow, tutors were very heplful.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aide process was easy to follow, but I have a few questions about the awarding policy.

Academic Flexibility: I havn't had any problems with my schedule of classes

Facilities: At this time I am unable to give an accurate review. I have not done enough research to know.

Career Services: Again, this is only my first semester back to school so I am not too familiar with quality available. I have not personally experienced this yet so I am not able to give a fair review.

Tuition & Financial Aid: I qualified for the BOG waiver fee. I wasn't able to receive financial aid until I got my GED. Which I did...phew that was scary. Being 52 years old, first time back to school, wow talk about overwhelmed with college classes and adult Ed on top of that this was the last year for GED students to take the exam with multiple choice and not only by memory. I had no idea until I enrolled for the GED classes that beginning Jan. 2014 there will be a new way to doing the GED exams and anything u may have learned or credits received will no longer exist. You have to start from ground zero. So with that said Oxnard college financial aid was available to me once I proved I passed the GED exam and I was compensated for my expenses

Student Body: Oxnard College has students of every type and very openly so. I noticed the ASG has all types of students as members.
We are allowed to express our beliefs.

Academic Experience: The unique aspect of my major Addictive Disorder Studies (ADS) that one of my instructors, Prof. Shilley created the ADS program for the college and I was blessed to have had him as one of my instructors, he is 85yrs. old and wont be teaching there much longer.
The internship possibilities are there. I have the list for them and I understand they are always full so it is best to begin applying at least one year in advance.
