5 College Junior

Athletics: Basketball have won championship games. Soccer has won championship games and so has the volleyball team!

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I play a sport there at school and the athletes are treated very well. The teams here are also very good. There is also a lot of school spirit on game days.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: Not a big fan of sports but sports are a very big part of our school. Only bad thing about sports is that the men's basketball players are rude at times, they think they own the school.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I personally do not engage in it.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: The athletic programs are some of the best here in San Antonio. Every student really does have a lot of school spirit, and attends all of the sporting events (which are free) to see our athletes be successful. Most of our programs have made it past the conference and into nationals and have ranked well. We are apart of the NAIA division which is very competitive, and something that you can really tell around here. The facility we have is pretty average, with everyone having to share, but our success of the athletic programs don't seem affected by it.

The University does not have a large sports program, but the department is expanding. In 2009, OLLU added varsity basketball, cross country, and softball teams, which nearly doubled its varsity offerings. Sports are popular among the students, especially intramural sports. However, this doesn’t mean all students keep up with them. The intramural sports are open to the public and alumni, and announcements are made about upcoming events and games.

Since the University’s athletic programs are relatively new, the Saints haven’t won any championships or big games. Students do attend some games, but they aren’t the stereotypically loud college games with screaming fans and painted faces. It seems like sporting events on campus are more like social events, where you can go to chat with your friends.
