Overall Experience: All of the classes I have taken at Ouachita have been so great! All of the professors really care for their students even if it is a core class! The class sizes are normally small it still seems like high school. There are a lot of great extra classes for electives as well.

Overall Experience: Everywhere you go there will be someone who has heard of Ouachita or actually went to Ouachita so that in itself gives you more opportunity for jobs and future careers. There have been some great people come out of Ouachita and they have made such a difference in the world today! Once you get that diploma from Ouachita so many doors are open. You can get a job almost anywhere I feel like with a Ouachita degree!

Campus Strictness: Boys are only allowed in the dorm rooms. Living on the campus is great because they make sure that everything stays in line. Our institution strives to reflect Christ.

Health & Safety: We feel really safe at Ouachita as a student body. There is really not a whole lot of crime that goes on within our walls. The police officers kind of put up a fortress around our school.

Guys & Girls: It is hard to explain. No one really looks down on other students for not having the same clothes as them or not driving a fancy car. We really try to up lift each other and show others the love of God.

Local Atmosphere: Arkadelphia is a small town for it to be a college town but there is plenty to do in Hot Springs and Little Rock. There is some cool stuff to do in downtown Arkadelphia but it kind of gets old. As far as events go normally the only ones we have that are huge are all on campus. The love and welcome all of the students!

Campus Housing: Every housing place on campus is very normal. The only really bad dorms are the freshmen dorms but after that it is easy sailing. It is so great to have people down your hall that you can connect to and the spots of them are super convenient.

4 College Junior

Majors: There is really not a lot of hassle. The only thing that could be a bump in the road is the auditioning process for the Fine Arts school.

5 College Junior

Majors: The education department is one of the best on campus! The facilities are always being updated constantly! We have such awesome professors as well! The workload is close to normal and the connections you make can help you out in the future.

Campus Dining: Most times the Caf has very good food. I mean if you don't like what is being served in the Commons you can always grab something at Chic or Sandellas.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: There are times when it can be a headache but honestly what process isn't.

Nightlife: We do not have much around Arkadelphia but there is always Little Rock and Hot Springs.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: We do not have Greek housing.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are 5 available apartment complexes to live off-campus. Only juniors and seniors are allowed to live off-campus and you do not receive a meal-plan if you do. The options are pretty reasonable and if you budget right, can be cheaper than living in the dorms.

Campus Dining: The availability for the campus dining is great! We get unlimited meals and $450 a semester to spend at Chick-fil-A, Sandella's, and Dr. Jack's Coffeehouse. However, the food in the cafe is not always the greatest. But you do have the option of making a sandwich if nothing else looks appetizing.

Athletics: I was a part of the Ouachita volleyball team for 2 years. The fan support gradually got bigger for our games, but it is very difficult to get Ouachita students to athletic events if it isn't football. However, intramural games sometimes have more fans than the actual scholarship sports do.

Nightlife: I usually do not attend many parties at Ouachita. That is not my kind of scene at all. If you don't go to parties, though, nightlife is pretty dull in Arkadelphia.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: At Ouachita, we call them "Social Clubs". I am not a part of one, but I do see the benefit of joining one if you are struggling finding a group of friends.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: For financial aid, you really need to do your research. Definitely fill out a FastFa form to get government aid. Look in to being eligible for work study and apply for as many scholarships as you can. Keep your grades up because you can receive a significant amount of Academic Aid from Ouachita.

4 College Junior

Diversity: Although we are a baptist university, the acceptance of all religions is available here. The university is becoming diverse since I've been here and many more ethnic/racial groups are becoming prevelant on campus, which I enjoy.

5 College Junior

Computers: There are many options available to get things printed and copied on campus. You always are connected to wireless internet whenever you are on campus - whether it's in class or in your dorm room. If you don't have a printer, there are several around campus that you can use and it only costs 5 cents per page, but you get a total of $50 to use on your ID card a semester.

Campus Housing: I have enjoyed living in the campus housing while at Ouachita. They do a great job of keeping the dorms clean and they are very spacious in comparison to other universities. I love having 4 people in a suite - 2 in a bedroom and we share a living room and bathroom. It's like a mini apartment.

College Junior

Transportation: The only option you have of transportation is your own vehicle. All the classes are located in the same general area so you usually walk to all your classes. The only thing you need a car for is if you need to make a Walmart run or food runs.

5 College Junior

Academics: It is great to be in the Mathematics department at Ouachita. The workload is a little overwhelming at times, but all of the faculty members are willing to help in any way that they can.

5 College Junior

Majors: I absolutely love my major at Ouachita. The professors are great and really work with you and help you whenever you need it. They are always readily available to you. They also don't just focus on your school work but genuinely care about your life outside of the classroom.
