Health & Safety: To my knowledge there hasn't been any violence of students harming other students on campus. The Walmart across the street is the only thing to cause any problems, which is why you will hear from pretty much every student, to go with a group of people when you need to make a quick grocery run at night, but other than that, there is little to none harmful activity going, so you're pretty safe.

Health & Safety: Actually, our campus has very good security. I feel completely safe walking around campus at 1 in the morning.

2 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Personally, I have only seen one security person in the two years I have been at ORU, and he was in a booth near one of the parking areas. He was not helpful at the time. At night, I have never seen one, execpt maybe in the booth near the Mabee Center, where there are rarely any students or parking. I feel I am on my own when walking around campus after dark. I think there is a false assumption of safety on campus and in buildings.

College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Sexual assault is not a problem on my campus.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: The campus is well lit at night. We have security officers that are active around campus. I, as a female, have no concerns about walking on campus alone at night.

Most students say they feel very secure on the ORU campus, as they should in a Christian, Bible-following atmosphere. There are not many reports at all of theft or any other crimes, really. And if anything remotely malevolent happens, it almost always stems from a group of students just looking for an adventure, which leads to somebody accidentally getting hurt in the process.

Public Safety officers are seen at least once on almost any trip to anywhere on campus. In fact, so little happens on campus in the way of crime that it seems like some members of the security force get so bored that they keep themselves busy by looking for cars parked in the wrong lots so they can write tickets.
