Parking: They don't have a parking lot. If you drive to school, only options are expensive parking lots, or 2 hour street parking next to the building...which is rarely available. I, like many people, take the Muni and Bart public transportation. The public transport in SF is great...though its been getting more and more crowded as of this year.

Off-Campus Dining: The campus location is right downtown so there are plenty of restaurants around. The Westfield Shopping Center is just blocks away and they have a high end food court serving a large variety of foods: Burgers, Thai, Seafood, Teriyaki. If you want to walk a bit towards Union Square there's plenty of places there too. Cheaper places are burger king. There used to be a Jack in the Box, but it closed down and is now a Japanese restaurant. Not bad pricing and food is good.

Campus Housing: They don't offer on-campus housing so not sure how to grade. I'd give it an A- for the assistance the school offered. They let you know ahead of time that there's no oncampus housing. Each student has to find a place on their own but they can request assistance from the Student Life department. Julia from the department was helpful. She recommended several options and helped connect me with a roomate. I needed one to split the cost....SF is expensive! I used to live on Treasure Island with a fellow Olivet University classmate. There were lots of other students living on the island, mostly from the Academy of Art school. Location was decent as the bus ride to downtown wasn't too long across the baybridge. Rent was modest for a 2 bedroom house compared to other tiny apartments downtown. I'd take morning jogs and the view on TI is beautiful. Just don't come home too late, it gets pretty shady when nightfalls. Now that the city of San Francisco is converting Treasure Island into a tourist destination, we couldn't live there anymore. Now I'm settled in a cozy apartment, pricier, but closer to the school. If you can still get onto Treasure Island, its a good deal...or was.

Academics: I am Master of Divinity student in my second year. It is such a blessing to me in my life to study in Olivet University. I met so many professional bible teachers and diligent students around the world. I feel very satisfied with the level of Olivet University in my area.

Off-Campus Dining: OU is located in the SF downtown, and it is near the Chinatown. As a International student from China, this is really sweet for me that I can eat the steamed bun and dimsum from the Haowangjiao

Transportation: From where I live its easy to hop on the bus and it takes me to within a block of the university. The express 45 bus can get me there in 15-20 minutes. Pretty good ride and I can web surf during that time. Be careful not to flash your iPhones in public too much, I heard thieves will just grab it from your hands and run.

Computers: They upgraded the computers in the computer lab not too long ago. Everything is Dell. Theres a Mac lab but its mostly used by the design students. Its open to all, but seems like the design students use it all day

The whole school has wireless, but you can plug into wires in the computer lab and at certain work stations. Almost everyone uses a laptop so people seem to use the computers cuz of the larger screen and faster internet since its plugged in. Some computers in the library are old and needs to be replaced, but overall I'm satisfied.

Off-Campus Dining: One of the best things about the school's location is that its right downtown and walking distance from some great restaurants. I usually find a lot of variety at the Westfield shopping center's food court. It's pretty nice and you don't need to tip. I used to get the $5 Fish and Chips, pretty good deal for 2 pieces of fish and fries. Everything else is usually $7 or more. I recommend the Coriander Thai food, its good and tastes authentic.

Good to go with groups, they have large tables, though lunch time usually is packed, especially if there's a conference event at the Moscone Center.

If you want a cheaper lunch, there's a Subway across the street.

Parking: Don't think about driving to school without coughing over hefty pay for parking. The university doesn't offer parking, instead they recommend taking public transportation. Though they do offer parking for some staff and faculty members offsite.

I was going to give an lower score, but being located in the middle of downtown you can't blame them for not having parking. There's sometimes free 2 hour street parking at the side street of the building, but you'll rarely find a spot during normal hours.

Use public transportation like Muni, Bart. It drops you off about 2-3 blocks from the school right on Market Street's Powell station. SF has one of the best public transportation, you can get to anywhere.

If you really need to drive, try parking at the Westfield mall lot on Mission St. or at the Moscone Center North parking lot. I don't drive so won't be able to give accurate pricing, but you can google it.

Academics: Pretty good classes overall. I'm in the MDiv program and like the attention and student/faculty engagement in and out of class. The teachers care about student performance and you can tell the TA's and staff work hard to assist.

Also convenient that TA's are online to chat whenever I have questions. Though they get busy sometimes and may not reply right away, but they usually ask for your email and respond later.

Campus Strictness: This is a very proper Christian school. The emphasis for students is on getting a biblical education, not on dating or anything like that. Not to say that students don't meet and get married, but it goes through a more traditional courtship. Come here if you want to study the Word, learn skills, and serve God.
