5 College Senior

Health & Safety: I always feel safe on campus, and can easily call campus patrol for a ride if I'm in need of one.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: I literally want to cry all the time just thinking about it.

2 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Not really worth it. Considering cots of school already, definitely not worth it

2 College Senior

Local Atmosphere: They kind of hate us. But many students are pretentious, little dirt bags. Don't blame them for hating us

3 College Senior

Campus Housing: From my first year of school, price of housing has increased by 50%. If I didn't have only a year left it would be doubtful I could have afforded to go here. On the positive side, dorms and apartments are awesome

1 College Senior

Diversity: Not going to lie. Olivet is not accepting if you do not fit the criteria.

4 College Senior

Athletics: As a past athlete I'd have to say it's enjoyable, but not very popular as other schools.

3 College Senior

Campus Dining: It's been noted that it is worse than prison bu better than retirement homes.

3 College Senior

Guys & Girls: I want to rant.. but will say not widely accepting by any means. Conservative

College Senior

Greek Life: There is no "Greek Life" at our school. Sorry

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: It's my last year at school. I just want to be done

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Dining: There is a Dairy Queen and Jimmy Johns and Subway walking distance from campus. Many local restaurants (i.e., McDonald's, Taco Bell, Subway) take Tiger Dollars.

Academics: Dietetics students get to work in Sodexo food service locations on campus when they take Quantity Foods. Students get to meet with actual clients and help them develop a nutrition plan in Medical Nutrition Therapy. Dietetics students automatically get a minor in Chemistry based on the amount of chemistry classes we are required to take for our degree. Students have the opportunity to become involved in the Student Dietetic Association.

Academics: Excellent professors. Challenging courses. A great library on campus for studying, with a special ultra-quiet third floor just for studying!

4 College Junior

Athletics: We have a lot of school spirit. Our sports teams aren't always the top of the line, necessarily, but we do definitely have some very talented athletes on our teams!

5 College Junior

Health & Safety: I feel totally safe on campus.

Majors: I love majoring in Dietetics at Olivet! The head of the program is super nice, helpful, and genuinely cares about her students. And I love being involved in Student Dietetic Association, a club for dietetics students on campus. It has given me the opportunity to meet people with similar interests as me. My only concern is that it will be difficult for me to find an internship after I graduate.

5 College Junior

Majors: I didn't encounter any difficulties. The most important criteria for admission are GOOD GRADES! No abnormal application process. One tip for admission is to meet with the head of the dietetics program before applying and make a good first impression.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: I wouldn't have been able to attend this school if it weren't for all the scholarship money they offered me.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Their food is okay. It was awesome the first couple of weeks, but then seemed to get a bit repetitive.

4 College Junior

Guys & Girls: There is a great diversity of people here, and everyone seems to be very nice and accepting of others.

Facilities: The Student Life and Recreation Center is awesome! There's a pool with a hot tub and lazy river, a rock climbing wall, arcade games in the basement, fitness classes, and a great gym on the third floor. There are 3 coffee shops on campus that serve great treats and drinks. One of the highlights of the year for me was Ollies Follies- a week of competitions by class and fun activities at the beginning of the year. It was a blast!

Facilities: Olivet is a Christian campus. There is no drugs or alcohol allowed at any time, so it is definitely not a party school! I think what really sets Olivet apart from other campuses is the close-knit community among teachers, students, and other faculty. It is really hard to just get lost in the crowd at Olivet. The campus is small enough that you quickly begin to recognize people while walking on campus, and make a ton of friends. And the faculty really cares about you-you're not just a number on their roster or just a name.

Campus Strictness: The two areas that I feel Olivet may be a bit too strict on are dress code policy and dorm/apartment visitation policy. The school's policy is to dress modestly, but some rules I don't agree with-no yoga pants, no wearing shorts to class until after 4 PM, no tank tops, dresses no more than 2 inches above the knee. And for dorms, they are girls-only or guys-only, with open dorm only from 7-11PM on Thursday night. Apartments are a bit more lenient with more open dorm nights, but still girls-only or guys-only.

Overall Experience: I started out attending University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, then transferred to Olivet Nazarene University last year (my junior year of college). I absolutely loved it! It is a much smaller campus than the U of I, which fits me better. The professors all really care about you, and I love that each professor takes the time to pray and often have a short devotional before class begins, even in larger lecture classes. I love chapel that we attend twice a week, and I feel that the presence of God is very strong on campus.
