3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Shawnee has all your average chain dining options, but that's about it.

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: OBU feels like an extremely safe campus. I rarely feel uncomfortable in the sense of safety.

2 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Shawnee can be a pretty boring town. Don't expect to love the entertainment here.

3 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Ring by spring is a real deal here. Also, I favorite annual event is TWIRP (the woman is required to pay) week.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The campus police are always kind a friendly. The only time I've had a "run in" with them was when I was walking on the fountain in the oval. The officer kindly asked me to get down solely for the reason that I could electrocute myself if I fell in and broke the pipes.

2 College Freshman

Nightlife: Nightlife on OBU's campus is hanging in the GC or sitting on the step of Shawnee Hall. What else would you expect from a baptist college?

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Intramural sports are a huge deal. Almost everyone I know is involved at some point during their 4 years here.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: OBU has several options that you can use your meal plan on besides the general cafeteria.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Shawnee doesn't seem to offer any house specifically towards college students, but there is a variety of apartment complexes and rent houses very close to campus.

3 College Junior

Local Atmosphere: There are not a lot of places to shop in Shawnee, but there are boutiques and the Shawnee Mall. The sports teams are part of the NAIA and a few of the teams (like track and swimming) have won the National Championships the past few years. The school has no fence around it, so vagabonds will sometimes walk around the campus. With food, Shawnee is a good place to get ice cream at Braum's or breakfast at Whataburger or IHOP. There are lots of cheap dining options off campus, which is nice for poor college students.

4 College Junior

Facilities: There are a lot of great traditions, from Welcome Week, Hanging of the Green, Christmas Chapel and the Whole Milk Run. The RAWC is awesome. The green spaces are great for laying out a blanket or putting up a hammock and studying on nice days. Some of the housing could be improved, but apartments have been constructed for upperclassmen that are modern and well-equipped. The school is small, so there are not a lot of student hangouts on campus, but the town itself caters to the college students. I had the local doughnut shop give me free doughnut holes when I showed them my student ID.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: I love OBU and I wouldn't want to change my option if I could. The people and professors have made it a great experience. Coming from a large high school, the small classroom settings are definitely a plus.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: The apartments on campus are definitely where you want to live. As a freshman, WMU is the best option versus Kerr. Both dorms had a great sense of community though and are right around all the buildings for class compared to the apartments.

4 College Junior

Facilities: The RAWC is always great and clean. The library can get loud when all the athletes are in there, but there are so many other places to study on campus that it really doesn't matter.

4 College Junior

Facilities: OBU prepares it's students for the future and has pushed it's students academically and spiritually. The students are generally super friendly and it's been a great few years for me.

4 College Junior

Greek Life: I've noticed a lot of girls joining the Greek life and love it. They aren't the typical snobby girls at all either and are easy to get along with whether you're in a group or not.

3 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are quite a few options for living off campus and, depending on where you look, it can definitely be cheaper. The only downside is a lot of houses/ apartments are older versus newer.

3 College Junior

Campus Dining: Chick-fil-a is now available downstairs and they are remodeling upstairs. The food isn't terrible, but the options can get tiring.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I love obu I really do

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I love Greek life! The girls are great and it really is a great way to get to know other women.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Sometimes it gets annoying when the athletes all use the facility but the RAWC is really nice

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: The people are just amazing. It's warm and welcoming and were all really close

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There really aren't many options in shawnee.... Like at all

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I wish we didn't had to live on campus until were 21

3 College Sophomore

Majors: The new nursing dean is awful. I understand wanting to produce good nurses but she is a perfectionist and has literally told us were not good enough for her program and I feel like that's unacceptable
