Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.

Academics: Very good academics. The professors don't seem to care much about students for the most part but the ones that do care, care a lot. Curriculum is very intense and workloads are even worse but I definitely felt like I learned a lot from all my classes.

Campus Strictness: Not very strict with a lot of things. My RA was pretty cool and didn't mind a lot of stuff but a lot of my friends had wack RA's who always liked writing people up.

Local Atmosphere: Some fun things to do but also a lot of panhandling on high street

Transportation: Could be better. The campus busses are usually packed and are late very often.

Computers: Computer science computing labs get overcrowded, otherwise computers in libraries are fairly accessible. Printing costs can add up and printing takes time out of your day because you have to go to a library. Buy your own printer.
