Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of off-campus dining options at Ohio State. It's down the street from the Short North, and is right along High Street. High street is lined with a variety of places to eat from subs, pizza, chipotle, and much more. There's something new to try just about every day. A lot of the places on high street also deliver to the dorms and off-campus housing!

Facilities: Student life is always vibrant. There is always something to be involved with and there is always something going on. One of the greatest traditions we have is the Mirror Lake Jump before the big Michigan game. It really shows our school spirit.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: OSU has so many clubs available that there are groups available to just about any person on campus. If the club doesn't exist yet, it can be created! Campus life is amazing because it's such a big school that it's basically it's own small town.

Computers: OSU's computer labs offer a great deal of software needed for whatever class you're taking. However, during midterms and finals there may not be computers available. The network is updated regularly so that speed is maintained. It's always a good idea to have your own printer if you live in the dorms due to the number of people that need to use the printers available on campus.

2 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Campus police are on duty but can be very strict about walking around campus after dark and using phone while walking.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life there are events and not so much parties which is really good.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: Public transportation is great. Bus stop every few blocks and plus off campus housing in front and around school so you can just walk to school and class with no problem. Plus, the school have a on campus bus system since it is a big campus to help make sure you will be getting to class on time as smooth as possible.

3 College Freshman

Facilities: The new union is great. Some dorms are new and nicely renovated, other are really old.

5 College Freshman

Majors: The college of Food and Agriculture at Ohio State University provides many avenues for students to choose from. You can go into farming with different avenues. Food Business Management is a great way to get into food production and services. I like the food science and technology aspect where you can go into the design and creation of new food technologies. Furthermore they offer many Animal science options. All together many comprehensive degree options for students to choose from.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: The buildings at extremely nice and state of the art. They just built a new rec center (RPAC) and a brand new Student Union. They are also constantly renovating older buildings. Starting next year they will be renovating all of North Campus dorms to bring them up to date.

Guys & Girls: Pretty much anyway you look at Ohio State you will see an attactive person. No matter what your preference is, you can find it here. It is very difficult also to find anyone out of shape or over-wight. And when going out on the weekends, when the girls are dressed the best, all I can say is "Wow."

1 College Senior

Diversity: Mostly Ohio people. Some from Asia, but those are the only countries that are mostly here.

Transportation: Campus Area Bus Service and Central Ohio Transit Authority allow you to never need a bike or care really

Majors: my challenge was going to class because they all suck (horrible response to this question but whatever). To get in this school just walk in the door I got in with a 2.6 gpa mind you i had like 51 credit hours

1 Recent Alumnus

Majors: originally thought to major in political science but taking constant political courses is redundant and boring

3 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: Library is great, lots of places to sit if you want. The oval is nowhere near the popular hangout that it was hyped up to be prior to me coming here. The union is pretty cool. The athletic center is cool if you like working and waiting to use equipment constantly. Library is vacant and it has like 15 floors so if you need isolation and focus good place to go. Place is the hotspot for promotional events in columbus.

2 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: Everyone that goes here is obsessed with the athletics while I could care less. I you are from Ohio I see the attraction, but I dont know what would be so attractive about it to an out of state student. Sure the obsession with the buckeyes is cute but on the outside looking in its like alright douchebag who really cares about your overrated big 10 team. Come here if you desire to be just another face in the crowd. Facilities and buildings are straight out of the 70s or 80s. My counselor was nice and helpful. The teachers and faculty are very average I expected much more coming from a junior college. I ask myself what am I paying for? Nothing is really standing out to me as impressive. There is mirror lake which is a gross little pond. But again I reiterate if you grew up in Ohio and are in the cult buckeye following good for you you'll love this school. If you don't have any school spirit for this school there is literally no point in going here.

Nightlife: There's ALWAYS something to do. Under-21 usually stay with house and frat parties unless you got a fake. Finding a party is relatively easy, just walk down the loud streets off of campus and you'll most likely find one. There are clubs in downtown Columbus that have 18+ Friday nights. They're not bad to get to, either get a bus or taxi. They're good most of the time cause they're also filled with OSU students.

Scholarships: The financial aid process was easy. I received enough scholarships and financial aid from OSU that it was cheaper than my own state school, which was ranked the "best value in the Northeast." They give a lot of money for out-of-state students!

3 College Freshman

Weather: Summer's can get really brutal. Winter is cold. Fall and spring are the best times. Weather's bipolar: it can be sunny in the morning and pouring rain 2 hours later. It's Ohio weather.

3 College Freshman

Computers: Nothing special. The computers in the library sometimes run a little bit slow. It's difficult to find an open computer in the libraries depending what time you go. I'm in engineering, and the computers in the computer labs are good. They just get filled up quickly when everyone has a lab due the next day.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have never actually felt unsafe while on campus. I have heard stories of people feeling unsafe though and they had very good reasons why.

1 College Junior

Campus Dining: there is no dining and i think that there should be. Especially for students who only have a few minutes between classes, they dont want to have to leave campus to go get lunch.

2 College Junior

Guys & Girls: You will find a variety of people on this campus but it is very hard to get to know someone. Since most students are from high schools around here, you can go into a class and know at least one person.

3 College Junior

Weather: Ohio can be scorching in August, freezing in winter, and unpredictable in between. The walkways are flooded easily, but snowfall is gorgeous and the paths are cleared and salted quickly

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
