Nightlife: There is a lot to do, especially on High Street. Most nightlife is for students 21+. Although, there are bars and clubs that allow 18+ in. Since there is a large number of students that attend OSU, there are always house parties, and most are friendly enough to let in a few straggling passerby's. Walking may seem like a burden, but it's quite fun.

Health & Safety: I usually feel very safe on campus, but I don't like it when they beef up security on jay walking.

Parking: The cost of the parking pass is average and there are always spots in the lots and a shuttle is by every 10-15 minutes to take you where you need to go.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a variety of options for off-campus housing at OSU including a variety of apartments and houses. Lots get rented very quickly so those looking to live off-campus should begin their search in the fall the year before. They can get kind of expensive depending on proximity to campus and realtor, though there are many relatively inexpensive options available (especially if you're willing to live farther away from campus).

Off-Campus Dining: There is a good variety of food chains as well as local options

Guys & Girls: There are obviously exceptions, but I feel like most people don't really care about what they look like and don't put much effort into it for the most part. There are also some good looking people but not the majority

Athletics: Varsity sports are taken very seriously and get all students involved

Nightlife: There are tons of parties during the year that are a lot of fun. And campus is right across from High Street, which is lined with bars that are good for the older crowd, there are just a ton of options. Some are not 21 and up, which is helpful for my younger friends too.

Health & Safety: I personally don't feel unsafe on campus. Sometimes it's hard to get a ride from Student Safety Services when I want one, though, because there are so many students and not that many cars. And walking alone can be scary at night because I live off campus, but there are usually so many people around that I feel secure.

Local Atmosphere: Ohio State is surrounded by many Columbus neighborhoods to explore. There's always something going on in the Short North Arts District or downtown. There are so many restaurants, concerts, places to shop and things to do. It's hard to be bored here.

Weather: The weather is very unpredictable. It snows alot during the winter months and rains in the summer and spring. Classes are rarely cancelled. Students enjoy the nice and warm weather by spending their time outside in the Oval.

Off-Campus Dining: There are lots of varieties for students. Students can choose from tacos to
mediterrannean platters as well as noodles and pasta. My favorite place to go eat is Chipotle. It's healthy and delicious!

Academics: Absolutely wonderful. Every school will have bad professors who give too high of a workload, but there are very great professors at OSU. There is a large variety of classes, many more than surrounding schools. While there are basic requirements for some classes you have to take (as with every school), it is possible to make your schedule very personalized.

Campus Housing: Some dorms are starting to age and deteriorate in quality. However, OSU is beginning to redo many of these older buildings and update them. Even though I lived in an older building for my time living on campus, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Campus offers many activities within individual dorms and attempts to unite those within the community. I felt like I had a very strong bond with those within my dorm and especially on my floor. Housing is a bit expensive however, so the grade is lowered because of this aspect.

Health & Safety: Every campus has crime. I know this is not preventable. Ohio States takes initiatives to keep its students safe. Student Safety Services offers transportation for students traveling late at night or those who do not feel safe walking home. There is also campus police that patrol the campus. I feel safe walking on campus at night, where there are plenty of streetlights and activity happening even into the early morning.

Local Atmosphere: Columbus has so much to offer. Many people only stay on campus or High Street, but a quick walk or bus ride can introduce so many of the charms of Columbus. So many stores and restaurants lie just north in Clintonville or south in the Short North and downtown. Don't get me wrong, campus and High Street offer so many things, like clubs, football games, campus activities and concerts, but venturing just off campus can offer an endless amount of things to see and be involved in.

Nightlife: You can pretty much find anything - house parties, frat parties, tons of bars.

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty big at OSU. Greek housing is pretty cool but they definitely are cliquey.

Athletics: Athletics are the best thing about Ohio State. We have amazing teams and the Big Ten is a huge conference, it's so fun to be a part of it. Students can get involved in pretty much anything, there are tons of intramural sports and clubs and school spirit is the best thing about this school. Not only are the sports awesome, but the RPAC, our main athletic facility, is one of the best in the country. It's amazing!

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: There are tons of options if you start looking early. Good housing for decent pricing, and right next to campus. Very fun atmosphere.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: It is strict but has its lenience. Like every other school, they are of course strict on alcohol and drugs but when it comes to dorm quietness, they are not as strict. Overall, it is a wonderful experience.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I would advise to those who are eligible for financial aid to take advantage. College is expensive and can get stressful when looking for ways to pay it off.

4 College Freshman

Weather: The weather in the summer is very convenient at times when it is not scorching hot. During the fall (and spring) Ohio state has what seems to be perfect whether. Not too hot or cold. As winter rolls in, we get our share of snow and 0 degree whether during early February.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Ohio State University offers a broad options for majors.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: there are many different options around campus with reasonable rents. clean and safe area around campus

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
