Scholarships: I received a merit scholarship when I was accepted to my school, but it is unfortunate that only U.S citizens and permanent residents are able to apply for federal or university grants to supplement their tuition while they are pursuing their degrees.

Off-Campus Housing: I have not yet actively sought off-campus housing.

Guys & Girls: The majority of students are white (at least externally appear so). There are some students who are well-dressed, but most students just dress casually (jackets, jeans, t-shirts). I don't know anything about social life or dating scenes in general because I am not yet involved in a club or a relationship (hook-up included).

Weather: It's hot but not too hot in summer and not too chilly in autumn. It is rather cold in late autumn and winter though, and snows frequently near December. Not bad if you like snow.

Transportation: Campus shuttle buses are free and available for an array of different time slots, including weekends. It is also free to use public transportation with the student ID.

Overall Experience: This is my first term here. I am not enthusiastic about my school mainly because it was neither my first nor second choice when I was applying to colleges. Still, some of the departments are very well-known, which include the one in which I major. I am a very environmentally conscious person, and my school is renowned for its efforts to reduce carbon footprints. That's another thing I like.

Campus Housing: There's hot water, and the housekeeping staff cleans communal bathroom twice per week, and there are no clogged toilets. It's not a 4- or 5-star hotel room, but not the worst you can think of.

Greek Life: I don't know whether chapter houses are opulent or not; I don't have any Greek friends to ask.

Campus Strictness: There really needs to be an answer like "I don't know" to the questions above, because I have no idea how to answer them.

Drug Safety: I wish there was an answer like N/A or I don't know for all the above questions because I really do not know the exact answers to them. I am under 21, and have not been exposed to alcohol or drugs on campus (I have rarely been off-campus), nor do I plan to until I graduate. My roommates and friends neither drink nor do drugs; therefore, I have zero first-hand experience and extremely limited second-hand knowledge in these affairs.

Health & Safety: There have been more than five incidents of robbery near campus this semester. Even though nothing serious seems to have happened in the area where I live, it still worries me that someone might always exploit a security loophole to sneak into my dorm room not because another resident may not pay enough attention on security. All in all, I have yet to be a victim of a criminal act, thankfully.

Campus Dining: Eating is not a problem here for most people who do not seek one hundred percent organic food or gourmet options, I think. Of course, it would be best if on-campus eateries actually catered to all the different palettes of more than 10,000 students, but then prices will likely soar.

Majors: It's my first term here, thus I don't believe that I have fully experienced all the aspects of the program (Political Science) to gauge its merits and shortcomings. But I am looking forward to seeing more progress in the program and myself as well in the future.

Majors: I don't believe I shall have sufficient time to do an internship, because during summer and winter terms I will take classes to accumulate credits for my plan of graduating in roughly two years. Any concerns about a potential internship may have an impact on me if I choose to obtain a master's degree instead of a Ph.D., but not now as I am mainly interested in honing my academic abilities and research skills necessary for Ph.D. admissions rather than professional qualities.

Computers: I have only used one of the computer labs in my dorm once because I already have a laptop, and the reliability and speed of the network seemed good. I have never used a school printer because I have a personal printer; hence, I do not have any first-hand experience of the quality of on-campus printers.

Off-Campus Dining: There are a bunch of different foods, lots that deliver, the price is normal and there is always canes chicken (a chicken place that is known on campus with fast, hot, tasty food at all hours)

Drug Safety: You can be involved in drugs but you dont have to be. There is harly any pressure and you will not be singled out if you say no. There are plenty of other activities going on around campus that can be clean without hindering your college career.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
