4 College Freshman

Majors: I am quite happy with my program. CSE seems to interest me quite a lot.

College Freshman

Parking: I have no used the campus parking, so I wouldn't know much about it.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: OSU's campus is so diverse. There are so many people on campus from different backgrounds.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are those who will go out and get drunk, and those who do drugs. Everyone knows who they are. BUT not everyone does it.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There is only one health center on campus that I know of, and the places is always busy. As for safety, the campus seems pretty safe.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There's so many things to do at OSU. There are thousands of clubs, a myriad of classes you can take, and very nice people.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There are many athletic centers around campus, many dining locations, and libraries to accompany the students.

4 College Freshman

Academics: There are many great people in CSE. The workload at first may be hard but there are alot of people who can help you.

3 College Freshman

Academics: There are some professors who just "can't teach" as we call them. There are others who really know what they are doing and can teach.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Typical Columbus weather, very cold in winter, very hot in Summer.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I haven't heard or seen any conflicts or influences between Greeks and Non-Greeks at OSU.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I am not old enough to go to clubs.

Overall Experience: Many great people at OSU. Lots of great places to eat. Classes are difficult, but there is alot of help available for those who are struggling. Everyone is very warm and welcoming. Overall, I'm satisfied with my decision to become a buckeye.

Scholarships: I received a merit scholarship when I was accepted to my school, but it is unfortunate that only U.S citizens and permanent residents are able to apply for federal or university grants to supplement their tuition while they are pursuing their degrees.

College Junior

Guys & Girls: The majority of students are white (at least externally appear so). There are some students who are well-dressed, but most students just dress casually (jackets, jeans, t-shirts). I don't know anything about social life or dating scenes in general because I am not yet involved in a club or a relationship (hook-up included).

Weather: It's hot but not too hot in summer and not too chilly in autumn. It is rather cold in late autumn and winter though, and snows frequently near December. Not bad if you like snow.

Transportation: Campus shuttle buses are free and available for an array of different time slots, including weekends. It is also free to use public transportation with the student ID.

College Junior

Overall Experience: This is my first term here. I am not enthusiastic about my school mainly because it was neither my first nor second choice when I was applying to colleges. Still, some of the departments are very well-known, which include the one in which I major. I am a very environmentally conscious person, and my school is renowned for its efforts to reduce carbon footprints. That's another thing I like.

Campus Housing: There's hot water, and the housekeeping staff cleans communal bathroom twice per week, and there are no clogged toilets. It's not a 4- or 5-star hotel room, but not the worst you can think of.

Greek Life: I don't know whether chapter houses are opulent or not; I don't have any Greek friends to ask.

Campus Strictness: There really needs to be an answer like "I don't know" to the questions above, because I have no idea how to answer them.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
