Majors: The psychology program is a very easy process to get into. It is very simple, you just fill out an application and then meet with your advisor to declare your major and decide between B.A. or B.S.

College Sophomore

Majors: I have not done an internship yet, but I plan on doing one in the near future. Ohio State does a good job of helping you find one and get set up.

Off-Campus Housing: I live in a house right off campus, so it only takes about 10 minutes to get to class, which is awesome. Our house was just renovated this past year, so everything is brand new and very nice.

Majors: I am a sophomore and just recently changed my major to psychology, so I don't have a great idea yet. But, so far I absolutely love my classes and my professors and the school does a great job with setting up internship and research opportunities.

Off-Campus Dining: awsome. We have so many choices. I live on High St. Who has not herd about that hot spot? There are so many places to eat and hang out that I don't know how many there are. I don't have a favorite because we love to try new places. A plus in my opinion.

Guys & Girls: Guys and girls here differ. Some guys tend to really live up to the typical "frat boy." However, some are just really cool, friendly, sweet and fun guys. The same goes for girls. There are the standard "out all night, party girls" but there are also tons of really nice, outgoing girls too. Either way, you will definitely fit in somewhere. Styles of campus vary but its all a matter of personal preference and comfort. Interests vary as well. Get involved with something close to your heart or a program related to your major. Just go with the flow and enjoy!

Local Atmosphere: Local atmosphere is very diverse. There are a wide range of shops and attractions but its amazing, nonetheless. Shops like the main street adjacent to campus and you're bound to find an amazing place to eat along the way. Not too far from campus are malls, cultural areas, a quaint art district, and larger shopping facilities, all within reach using the convenient bus systems.

4 College Sophomore

Facilities: Facilities on and off campus here at Ohio State are top notch. There are numerous fields for all types of sports as well as an incredible gym, the RPAC, that is the finest of its kind. The Union is another great spot on campus. It is always so full of life and many student programs and offices are located there so it's a great place to be at any point during the day. Ohio State also has many libraries at your disposal, whether it's for books, printing, or just some peace and quiet.

Facilities: Student life on campus is incredible. There is something for everybody. Being bored is never an option here at Ohio State. There are always fun activities to participate in, sports games to go to and so many more interesting and fun opportunities.

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There is a very wide variety of housing options. There are big houses and many of them are run-down (but livable) on the inside from partying. There are also more cost-effective apartments. There are loud and busy neighborhoods but also more quiet and calm streets for people with different preferences. However, with so many students looking for housing, everywhere gets taken pretty quickly so you may not find exactly what you are looking for or who you want to live with if you don't act quickly, and it might be a bit farther from campus.

Transportation: Students are able to take the COTA bus lines all over the city, as well as the campus busses (though those do not run all night). Everything you need is a bus ride or two away so I never needed a car. Restaurants, off-campus friends, grocery stores, Target, etc. is very close to campus. Also, the Megabus picks up and drops off right from the Ohio Union!

Nightlife: There is always a party going on outside of campus. House parties are the way to go if you're underage. But there are a lot of cops patrolling so as long as people aren't acting like idiots then the party scene can be a lot of fun.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: Campus dining isn't bad, but it does get old. There's many options outside of the traditional dining halls, but most of them serve similar food. It does not beat a home cooked meal.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are many chain restaurants within walking distance of campus and there are also a lot of mom and pop style restaurants. Chains include: Raising Canes, Noodles & Co, Charley's, Chipotle etc. Mom and pop restaurants include Insomnia Cookies, a late night cookie place, and Buckeye Donuts.

Drug Safety: It is up to each individual student if they want to partake. I see more drinking.

Local Atmosphere: The local atmosphere at Ohio State University is diverse. You can meet people from all over the world.

The activities are endless. There is plenty of shopping.

And of course the Ohio State Buckeye team. Go Bucks!

Local Atmosphere: Columbus is a wonderful college town. Students get the "campus atmosphere" without being in their own little bubble. The city is so close but not right there, making it easy to get downtown if you so choose but far enough that it's not a city school.

Academics: Its hard to get scheduled for classes and the support staff are somewhat uncooperative to help students

Nightlife: There are lots of fun things at the Gateway and Arena District/Park Street and there are always great cheap concerts. Beer prices are pretty high though

Greek Life: Greek life supports the campus with many free activities for both Greek and Non-Greeks, but the dues are very high.

5 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There is a wide range of people at Ohio State. People from all over the country as well as people from all over the world. It is a great place to get to meet new people with very different backgrounds. People dress pretty nice, but there are very different styles. It is nice that there are so many people around to bring some variety to the campus. There are many clubs available for students to join which allows students to meet new friends and get involved on campus.

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: The drug scene at Ohio State isn't that big, it completely depends on your group of friends. For the most part, if students are taking part in drug use they are smoking. Most students stick to drinking though rather than drugs.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are many different options for food off campus. We have a wide variety of food ranging from asian to mexican. The restaurants are all very close to campus, just across the street from the student union. Prices are pretty normal and a few locations have discounts for students using their student ID card.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: I am getting my DPT in physical therapy. The program is very difficult ad there is a large work load but that is to be assumed in a hard program such as physical therapy. The classes all have to do with our studies and the teachers do a great job of being accessible for students when help is needed. We have great facilities to practice what we are studying and have various libraries accessible to us as well.

Academics: Ohio State offers a wide variety of classes and majors. Most of the teachers are very accessible and offer office hours for help if the student needs any. The only thing I could see wrong would be the class size, many classes have a large amount of students so for students who enjoy intimacy in the classroom Ohio State may not be as good of a fit for.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
