4 College Senior

Computers: OSU has a great IT department as well as a reliable wireless network on campus.

Overall Experience: I enjoyed my time at Ohio State, but I would not say that I am overly in love or obsessed with my university like others are.

4 College Senior

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of people on OSU's campus and therefore a wide array of people to form social and personal relationships with.

4 College Senior

Majors: There is a wide array of majors to choose from with many open options for classes and requirements to fulfill those majors.

3 College Senior

Transportation: OSU is not a campus that was meant to have high traffic driving, nor is there ever much available parking on campus.

4 College Senior

Scholarships: The process (and really for anything at OSU) is a bit of a headache, but it is usually taken care of eventually.

Campus Dining: There is a wide and diverse selection of campus dining options for students - not so much for visitors or those who come to campus to not eat in a dining hall or market.

3 College Senior

Off-Campus Housing: Off Campus Housing is generally so-so. There are some nice places to live near campus, but you will definitely pay the price for them. Most houses and apartments are rough and not exactly up to high standards (due to the poor reality companies).

5 College Senior

Greek Life: Greek Life is prominent at OSU (though not completely by numbers due to the large size of the student population).

Drug Safety: Overall, OSU has a good control on the alcohol and drug issues on campus. Because of its size, there is still a significant presence of both though.

4 College Senior

Campus Housing: Not enough housing for more than the freshman class usually - I only stayed in the dorms for one year.

5 College Senior

Diversity: The Ohio State University is very progressive with minority and diversity affairs and is something pushed forward daily.

Academics: I like my major but I'm thinking of switching majors

4 College Freshman

Academics: The classes aren't too easy or too hard and the professors are usually interesting but there are a lot of large classes

College Freshman

Diversity: I don't know that much about diversity here but I haven't seen any discrimination personally

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: A lot of people drink and some do drugs but there is no peer pressure

Off-Campus Housing: Houses and apartments get filled up really quickly

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
