Off-Campus Housing: There are good ones and bad ones. Do some research to find the best.

Academics: I am very pleased with my major. I program is very strong, the workload is a lot but I know in the end it will be worth it. The curriculum is very constant and very dedicated. The opportunities for jobs seem to be very good.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: Many food options off campus. There are places like Chipotle and mcdonalds and even panda express. There are pizza places, wings, donuts, coffee shops and much more. I love it and I love the options.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I have never lived off campus but I have been told its pretty pricey. The parking is very tight on the streets and I feel the safety isnt nearly as safe as living on campus.

College Sophomore

Transportation: I havent used the transportation yet therefore I can not tell you if they are good or not.

5 College Sophomore

Facilities: Student life is amazing at OSU it is literally everywhere you look. It is great in almost every aspect for student life and activities.

Athletics: Athletics is very important and are big for students, alumni, faculty, and everyone in the state!

3 College Sophomore

Local Atmosphere: I local atmosphere is very upbeat and vibrant. It works for me as a school but for living after school it is not for me I am more of a country girl.

College Sophomore

Nightlife: I do not tend to go to the bars or clubs or any of the parties.

3 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: On campus I feel pretty safe but once off of campus over by the book store I dont feel very safe. I would rather constantly travel in a group.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: They have been very helpful and have shown me who I am and who I want to me. It has kept my close to my family and friends at home and given me so many options with activities and jobs and organizations.

2 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: At osu there are many different kinds of guys from preepy to down to earth, and athletic to nerdy. Guys are most interested in getting girls and going to parties.

Drug Safety: The drug and alcohol isnt bad ON campus but as soon as you cross the street its party central. There are parties every night even on week nights.

Parking: Campus parking cost so much. Its bad enough when you already commute and have to pay for gas there and back but also have to pay so much money to just pull into a parking spot is crazy! Also in order to get a spot you have to get there like an hour before if you want to get a spot and still try to make it class on time.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Strictness: The cops seem very nice and laid back as long as you are respectful and abide by the rules. The like to keep the campus safe.

Local Atmosphere: People here in Columbus are a lot friendlier than folks back home in Boston! Everyone is proud of the university it's pretty amazing. There's just a great sense of community even though our campus is so big. I love it.

Transportation: You simply don't need a car here. The campus buses are awesome. COTA, which is free with your BUCK ID, also gives you access to all the interesting stuff in Columbus. Easton is a good shopping location but it does take approximately 1 hour each way by bus.

Greek Life: I don't know that much about it yet but there are tons of social AND professional frats/sororities. You don't feel left out if you're not in one though, it just seems like an added layer of community.

Scholarships: As an out-of-state student it ended up being cheaper for me to go here than to my home state university. The national buckeye scholarship is pretty easy to get. They did a great job with helping me get loans and handling my external scholarships.

Campus Housing: Freshmen are required to live on campus. Some dorms are really nice and school just renovated many of its dorms, so in general, they are nicer now.

Nightlife: If you're 21+, there are many bars around campus for you. They normally have specials on weekdays and people love hanging out in bars on weekend nights. Football Saturdays are crazy here. For people under 21, there are bars downtown that let underage people in and there are many house parties around from thursday-saturday.

Weather: I'm from Chicago originally, and I just hate Ohio weather. In Philadelphia we can get four season in just one day. The temperature is always all over the place. In Chicago if the new says one thing it's usually stays in that range. Ohio state is unpredictable.

Diversity: OSU is a huge campus, which leds to a huge diversity. I have seen almost every ethnic group walking around campus. Even though most of the students are white rich kids, there are still many events that celebrate others races and groups of people. It's not as equality diverse as I would like, But I'm still a proud Buckeye.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
