College Freshman

Greek Life: I really have not paid attention to this area so it would be difficult to answer at this time.

3 College Freshman

Computers: It is necessary for me to utilize my own computer for my work and education. I believe this process is still quite ok.

4 College Freshman

Parking: Very reasonable, a car is not needed on campus, I utilize my bicycle and walking daily.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: The campus that I am currently at does not have a lot of attractions. I spend my weekends studying and attending the main campus for the additional increase of attractions.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: These are currently not my priorities when my education is more important and my health.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The academic programs are great compared to a lot of other schools, I also feel comfortable with the academic levels and programs. The campus life is great and there is so much to do on the main campus that it makes things very nice. The physical facilities are great and can be used conveniently which I feel is important due to the varities of
schedules.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: The athletic centers, student centers, libraries and traditions are just great! They are very helpful to the daily life as well as the access to all of these centers which are very important to my education.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There is a lot of assistance when needed, it is very rare that you are alone as it is, if you working on the buddy systems. The paths at times can be a lit a little more to be a little safer.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The ease of the housing process is good but the technical sides of the application process have been poor when it gives you the option to forward your student email account to a general account such as gmail. You are not informed that these student emails can be lost and never forwarded to your personal email therefore causing difficulties when communication times are important. The campus is fine but being on a waiting list untl the last moment before school starts was extremely stressful.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: There is not need for a lot of transportation requirements at school because there are so many things that are still within walking or riding a bicycle distance. Public transportation is convenient, a car is not necessary except to go home with.

5 College Freshman

Computers: The number of computers that are available on this very large campus is impressive. There are many buildings with computer labs in 95% of them. The reliability of the network and the network speed is excellent. When it comes close to midterms and finals, it tends to get a little crowded but this is normal for any college.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: The visibility on campus, if you don't know what to look for, is zero to none. Peer pressure drinking is virtually non-existent, but when there is drinking enforcement is not harsh.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Campus is structured as a small community so no matter what the weather classes can be easily reached.

3 College Freshman

Parking: I'm currently a freshman so I'm not allowed a car, but unless you are a commuter student then there really isn't a reason you need a car.

Overall Experience: What really drew me to my school was the great academic opportunity offered here. When I arrived I fell in love with the beauty of the campus and the astounding school spirit. My only complaints would be the poor dining options, and the poor living conditions for the price.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
