Health & Safety: We are a huge urban university, and have the safety concerns that come with that. I would like the safety escort service easier to use. I have called and been told that I should have made a reservation days or weeks before!? I feel safe walking alone during the day, but never go out alone in the dark.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't have anything to do with Greek life. They are viewed at snobby and party too much. Housing is Frat row, looks kind of nasty but is popular so maybe the houses are better on the inside.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I am currently undecided, which is considered "Exploration" at OSU. There are many seminars, activities and workshop to help explore our interests and find a direction of study.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Great variety of majors and challenging programs of study. Registration is done online and is easy to do. Workload is comparable to other colleges( that I have talked to my friends about). There are many libraries and places to study and an active student center for tutoring and any help needed.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Tons of stuff to do on campus and in the city. Public transportation is great and easy to use, many walkable activities.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: See some use but don't have any thing to do with it. I know some people that do use but doesn't effect me.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Only got a federal loan, so not hard to handle. Money is applied in a timely manner.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: its pretty condensed but so is every college town. youll get crappy and really nice houses depending on where you go. everyone has a lawn and trees so it feels like your typical college neighborhood

Campus Strictness: not a very strict school by any means

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: health center is great. on campus is very safe, off campus i generally very safe as well except for southeast but thats really not anything too bad. osu has a good amount of sheltered farm hicks who are scared of seeing any race but white so dont let their reviews scare you. i havent had any problems nor do i know one person whos had an issue

3 College Freshman

Parking: good amount of spaces but theres also 50000 kids so it cancels out

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: its not huge buts its not small by any means. im in greek life and i love it so it dominates my college experince but for other students its not really pressing unless your really into parties since its very hard to get into greek parties

5 College Freshman

Majors: i just got into my major classes so i havent had chances for internships, but theres plentiful chances to get one

3 College Freshman

Majors: i had hated my program in const management so i left that after the first week. im now getting into city planning after taking gen eds and it seems like a great major

5 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: girls are top of line here. and there mostly friendly. some prefer hookups where other relationships. but the girls are 100% sexy

Nightlife: a big state/ party school. lots of options ranging from clubs to frat parties. theres bascially stuff going on every night although it picks up alot during thurs-sat. theres times where i can hear drunk people at 1am on a monday running around high street. its definelty fun but i would recommend a fake id cause clubs and bars are a huge part of the nightlife

3 College Freshman

Computers: lots of places with computers but theres not anything amazing. wireless isnt too bad

2 College Freshman

Weather: yeah, the weather is the worst part about osu. i love that it snows alot but its scorchligy hot till like the middle of october which is ridicoulous and then it turns to like 20 degrees everyday. very nice though during the spring and the middle of october to november. other than that its either 90 degrees or its 30 degrees

5 College Freshman

Facilities: compared to other schools, most of our facilities knock them out of the prk

5 College Freshman

Facilities: awesome experience that you can only get at a big state school. its basically what you see in the movies except you actually living it. i love it here

5 College Freshman

Campus Dining: theres so many options and its really good compared to other schools

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: cops bust parties here and there but its not strict at all here. i smoke weed on campus and as long as your not obvious noone will really notice or care

Local Atmosphere: since i come from the philly area and know what an acutal big city is, columbus is really a large college town that has a city looking downtown. if your looking for a real city, you wont find it here. its very laid back and revolves around the college. it seems like everyone from ohio comes from a farm where the biggest attraction is walmart so they all think this is some big deal city since theyve never seen building taller than 3 floors. other than the downtown columbus is very suburban feeling and osu is definitely not a city school like usc or nyu. its more like a lsu, asu or ut austin

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
