5 College Freshman

Facilities: My school is set apart by many things but it has to be best known for its amazing athletics and social life. Our football team just went undefeated for its second year in a row. Game days are the best days. Everyone is a friend and you can hear the stadium from every corner of campus. Even when there isn't a game the people here are incredibly nice and friendly.

Overall Experience: I would absolutely choose The Ohio State University again. I love being at such a big school. My whole life is literally in walking distance from my house. Not to mention I love the atmosphere here on game days when the streets are closed off because they are actually flooded with people, you cannot beat that. My experience here has been so great and I would never trade it for any other school.

Guys & Girls: There are so many different types of people here it is physically impossible not to find someone you think is attractive. You see someone attractive daily and you find someone with the same interest as you daily. When you were in high school and got mad at someone for wearing the same shirt as you it was acceptable, but now that you're in a big college you can't do that because it's going to happen, everyday of your life.

Drug Safety: There is a lot of drinking on the weekends; most of it is due to our big athletics. So there is a lot of underage drinking at our school too but there are also a lot of kids who choose not to drink as well. If you don't drink no one says anything bad about you or looks at you differently. There are so many people here it is hard to not have a friend who drinks and is not twenty-one.

Academics: I get emails everyday with specific internships and job offers I can apply to for my major. There is also a website set up for each major where they can find and apply to countless different jobs and internships. The workload for my major is average and I can easily get through it. I find the curriculum interesting and love the facilities.

Academics: We have a broad range of study options and some of the best study programs in the world. There are tons of study abroad programs and international studies as well. Plus there are some of the greatest professors here and they can help you learn everything you need to know.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: I can get anywhere I need to go, and for the most part it is at no or very little cost. I can ride the bus for free all around campus, or even Columbus and into Bexley and other cities. I can easily find a ride home for the weekend to visit my family and there is an airport that is right by campus for any students to use.

Campus Strictness: Being police on a college campus they are going to have plenty of enemies because of the large amount of underage drinking and other things college students like to do, but the law enforcement here is respectful here in the way they control it in that they do not condone it but will do more things to prevent it before they have to get you in trouble. It creates a more positive atmosphere.

Off-Campus Dining: There are plenty of different options around campus and near campus, but because campus is so big it seems like you can walk from one end of campus to the other and find the same options just fifteen minutes away. It may be convenient at times but it is also annoying when you can have other options instead of repeat restaurants.

College Freshman

Parking: You do not necessarily need a car depending on where you live in relation with the campus; it may be better just to walk everywhere rather than drive and fight for a spot. Plus to pay for a permit when you live in walking distance is not a smart decision.

College Freshman

Majors: I have not yet gotten an internship, but there are many opportunities for me to get one.

Majors: I am quite happy with my program. CSE seems to interest me quite a lot.

College Freshman

Parking: I have no used the campus parking, so I wouldn't know much about it.

Diversity: OSU's campus is so diverse. There are so many people on campus from different backgrounds.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are those who will go out and get drunk, and those who do drugs. Everyone knows who they are. BUT not everyone does it.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There is only one health center on campus that I know of, and the places is always busy. As for safety, the campus seems pretty safe.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There are many athletic centers around campus, many dining locations, and libraries to accompany the students.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There's so many things to do at OSU. There are thousands of clubs, a myriad of classes you can take, and very nice people.

4 College Freshman

Academics: There are many great people in CSE. The workload at first may be hard but there are alot of people who can help you.

3 College Freshman

Academics: There are some professors who just "can't teach" as we call them. There are others who really know what they are doing and can teach.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Typical Columbus weather, very cold in winter, very hot in Summer.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I haven't heard or seen any conflicts or influences between Greeks and Non-Greeks at OSU.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I am not old enough to go to clubs.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
