Overall Experience: If I would have been more outgoing and willing to try new things I would have enjoyed my college experience much more. Attending such a large school makes it easy to fall through the cracks and get lost in the crowd.

Facilities: There are so many different opportunities on campus, no matter what you are interested in if you are willing to put yourself out there then you can find a social group to fit your needs!

5 Recent Alumnus

Facilities: The RPAC and the ARC are just two of my favorites. There are so many great student centers on campus!

Majors: So many majors to choose from, if you're willing to work hard, most of the staff is willing to work hard to help you.

Majors: There are a lot of people to relate to, its almost scary because there are so many people who want to do exactly what you want to....so who gets the job when all is said and done. Very competitive.

Diversity: I think it is diverse, but the more diverse students are in their own groups

Overall Experience: I love THE Ohio State University. It's such a phenomenal education and social environment. There are numerous opportunities for students in almost any field or type of interest. The sports atmosphere, especially during football season, is just insane and the school pride is something to be bragged about. Students are friendly and interested in studying hard but then partying hard on the weekends. There are so many activities offered that no one should be bored while on the OSU campus. I just LOVE this school.

Campus Housing: Depending on where you are placed for housing your experience can be great or mediocre. I live in one of the most recently refurbished buildings on campus: Park-Stradley. But for others living in dorms that have not been updated in several decades there can be issues- such as lack of air-conditioning. But depending on who is living around you your actual dorm room can cease to be an issue.

Campus Strictness: they are pretty lenient with students at OSU. you are allowed to keep your independence and really get the experience of making decisions on your own and living as an adult.

Majors: There are many majors to choose from (over 175) and there is a program where you can create your own major if need be.

Campus Strictness: As long as no one is put in danger or harm, the university is pretty lenient.

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: There are few reports of drug problems. Many students do not feel the need to use drugs to have a good time. The university provides many sober events for these students.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Everyone, for the most part, is friendly and outgoing.

Greek Life: There are many different chapter options. More students aren't in Greek life than are, but it's still a good way to expand your horizons and meet new people.

Computers: There are computer labs in many campus buildings, but with so many students, bringing your own is recommended.

Overall Experience: Ohio State is one of the biggest and greatest schools in the nation. There is an overwhelming sense of community and there are always activities around campus. I honestly love this place.

Health & Safety: There are always student safety cars driving around campus that will pick you up and give you a ride if feel uneasy. The police drive through occasionally, but they are not overbearing.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There are many residence halls to choose from and each holds many events for students to participate in.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: Lot's of places on High st. to go, as well as house parties off campus. All are walking distance.

5 College Freshman

Transportation: There is a constant flow of buses on and off campus for student's convenience.

3 College Freshman

Campus Dining: It's not horrible, but nothing is open very late.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Spots fill quickly, but it is not outrageously priced.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: High st. houses plenty of options for students, as well as the Short North or downtown.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Winter is a cold walk to class but other than that, there are not many issues.

5 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Very close to downtown Columbus, the Short North and German Village. There's always something to do!

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
