Transportation: Most of the time the busses are on schedule when I need them, but even if they're not, another one comes within about 10 minutes.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: The sports atmosphere here is awesome. I love going to the football and basketball games and everyone goes crazy at the games.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Very good academics. I'm in a science program but the chemistry program is extremely rigorous, so be prepared.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It definitely depends where you're housed, but in my dorm the only complaint I could think of (besides the overly strict RAs and HD) would be that floors aren't coed.

Computers: I know nothing of the labs, the printing is just as costly as anywhere else, the network is iffy at times and can be an inconvenience, but its nothing to complain about. Definitely need a computer to attend this college, and I would highly suggest a printer.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Definitely not that much work compared to some other majors such as Engineering. I find myself pulling above a 3.5 without truly applying myself. If I put in the work hours that each class is intended to produce, then I would be surprised to find myself with anything less than 4.0

3 College Freshman

Transportation: The bus system is cool and the fee is covered somewhere in our tuition or something. Its only drawback is it can be quite confusing and is hard to use the app that helps us locate the buses. Taxis seem to be a normal price and the drivers are almost always very friendly.

3 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: Although they have many areas of strictness, they are also very lenient in other areas. As long as you respect the police they seem more concerned with your safety than getting you in trouble, a huge proponent in my eyes. Dorm life should be less strict though. Kids are going to drink in their dorms regardless of if/how many times they get caught. By constantly looking to get kids in trouble for having such small social gatherings in their dorm rooms, all they do is cause the student to get in trouble with something that they are going to keep doing-except in a smarter way once they get caught.

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: OSU seems to pride itself in making the Greek Life here very professional. To put it in a juvenile perspective, they focus on taking out the perceived fun of Greek Life (parties involving alcohol and hazing Greek initiates) and making it more a professional culture involving community service and bettering the people in the fraternities/sororities.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: I don't really know much about the off-campus dining, and unless you consider fast food dining I haven't even been to an off-campus dining location.

5 College Freshman

Diversity: One of the most like able facts about the campus, for me at least, would be how diverse it is. I even met a girl who just transferred to OSU from OU, and her reasoning behind transferring was OU wasn't diverse enough and all of her friends who went to OSU loved its diversity.

3 College Freshman

Weather: I'm not used to the chilly winds, but its not bad. If anything I'd say all the cold weather does is discourage students to go out and party on cold nights.

Nightlife: I'm sure night life could go harder and be crazier like some other schools, but regardless it will be a good time if you go out with that attitude.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Its nothing special but it gets the job done; that's all that matters.

3 Recent Alumnus

Off-Campus Housing: I lived in a great neighborhood about 20 minutes from campus and the location, safety, and convenience was outstanding and the university does not really help you look for these housing options.

Majors: I would absolutely complete the program again because of the establishment of strong education and preparation for graduate studies in any aspect of the health care field

3 Recent Alumnus

Majors: I did not really encounter any problems with the process and it was pretty easy to apply as well as organize everything for the admissions process.

4 Recent Alumnus

Local Atmosphere: There are always events and activities to do on the campus and the overall atmosphere in something to experience once in this lifetime.

4 Recent Alumnus

Transportation: Local buses are available for students for transportation and convenience of the students

5 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: The facilities and support by fans is truly incredible and the overall school spirit is life changing.

4 Recent Alumnus

Diversity: Ethnicity and diversity are a primary focus on this campus and the overall school in general. It is a great atmosphere of learning and meeting several new individuals throughout your college career.

Recent Alumnus

Drug Safety: Students do not use products on school grounds, but tend to use them at parties and campus houses.

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: There are plenty of ethnic groups represented here however, I expected more diversity.

4 College Sophomore

Nightlife: There is always something going on here. It is tough NOT to have plans on the weekend.

Off-Campus Dining: There are the typical pop up local fast food places with a few stand out eateries as well.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
