4 College Freshman

Diversity: Ohio State is known for its diversity, and most people accept everyone for who they are.

3 College Freshman

Weather: Snow is to be expected if you live in Ohio... The cold weather mostly affects me in the early morning when I'm walking to classes.

Computers: Wi-fi is available all over campus, making it convenient if you carry your laptop around.

College Freshman

Nightlife: I do not partake in the nightlife.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Dorming is quite expensive and required of freshmen. The social experience is a good one to have however.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It has been tough to adjust to such a big university. While it is great that there is so much offered, sometimes it can be overwelming.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: There are many opportunities for study aboard, exchange programs, internships here. The campus has had extensive remodeling to the dorms and updates in the buildings in general. Campus life is hopping, with something for just about anyone, parties, theater, music, museums.

4 College Freshman

Facilities: We have tons of libraries, both big and small, general and specialized. There are multiple athletic centers and workout centers that are new and updated. There are tons of clubs and groups and intramural sports for everyone.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I am not as into sports as many if not most people are at my school. It is fun but gets old for me by the end of the season. There is great fan support and spirit and that makes it fun even if you aren't crazy about sports.

Guys & Girls: I have meet a lot of different types of people. It is great to be at a place where so many differences in culture, dress, religions are accepted and shared.

4 College Freshman

Computers: I have never had any problem getting online or finding help with tech if I need it. Speedy and plentiful.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: I don't drink so I can only rate the bar scene based on observation of my roommate. She seems to enjoy it. Everything is close,so she walks. Prices are apparently high.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: I don't like the commons but they are close and serve a lot of food for the money. I just don't care for that heavy kind of food. There are many options for everyone, and I have enjoyed trying food from new cultures. Prices are a bit high I think and having a smaller meal plan option would be great. There aren't enough options for meal plan spending out side of the restaurants on campus.

Health & Safety: We are a huge urban university, and have the safety concerns that come with that. I would like the safety escort service easier to use. I have called and been told that I should have made a reservation days or weeks before!? I feel safe walking alone during the day, but never go out alone in the dark.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: I don't have anything to do with Greek life. They are viewed at snobby and party too much. Housing is Frat row, looks kind of nasty but is popular so maybe the houses are better on the inside.

4 College Freshman

Academics: I am currently undecided, which is considered "Exploration" at OSU. There are many seminars, activities and workshop to help explore our interests and find a direction of study.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Great variety of majors and challenging programs of study. Registration is done online and is easy to do. Workload is comparable to other colleges( that I have talked to my friends about). There are many libraries and places to study and an active student center for tutoring and any help needed.

4 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Tons of stuff to do on campus and in the city. Public transportation is great and easy to use, many walkable activities.

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: See some use but don't have any thing to do with it. I know some people that do use but doesn't effect me.

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: Only got a federal loan, so not hard to handle. Money is applied in a timely manner.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: its pretty condensed but so is every college town. youll get crappy and really nice houses depending on where you go. everyone has a lawn and trees so it feels like your typical college neighborhood

Campus Strictness: not a very strict school by any means

5 College Freshman

Health & Safety: health center is great. on campus is very safe, off campus i generally very safe as well except for southeast but thats really not anything too bad. osu has a good amount of sheltered farm hicks who are scared of seeing any race but white so dont let their reviews scare you. i havent had any problems nor do i know one person whos had an issue

3 College Freshman

Parking: good amount of spaces but theres also 50000 kids so it cancels out

4 College Freshman

Greek Life: its not huge buts its not small by any means. im in greek life and i love it so it dominates my college experince but for other students its not really pressing unless your really into parties since its very hard to get into greek parties

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
