4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a great variety of dining options off campus which vary in price depending on the style you are looking for.

5 College Freshman

Athletics: Everyone is involved in some sort of activity and fall semester revolves around football season.

College Freshman

Computers: I have not used any of the computers on campus due to owning a laptop, but rarely have problems with wireless connection even in heavily populated areas.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off-Campus housing may allow more freedom but the process to find a house or apartment that's affordable can be difficult.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Campus encompasses a multitude of religions, ethnicities, and sexual orientations. Everyone is welcome and treated equally in my opinion.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: You are either in a awesome dorm or an awful cramped dorm that is out of the way.

Overall Experience: I love the school pride and the sports and academics. I did not get placed in the best living situation though so coming from out of state has been difficult because i am a freshman on a floor with sophomores a lot of whom don't talk.

College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: i am a frehsman so i have undergone the process for looking for a house yet. but i have friends that have.

College Freshman

Academics: I just declared the major so i do not know much about it at this time.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Classes are big yes but that has not stopped the professors from being engaging and helpful. Also the classes that are big are gen-eds. But students get assigned a TA and there are plenty of office hours to go to for help. Academics are tough. Students should do readings and are responsible for their work and professors are willing to help but they won't help you if you don't show that you care.

Campus Dining: There is a lot of diversity on campus for dining. There are all you can eat and there are diners and cafes and cafeterias. There really is something for everyone. One problem though is if you are a let night grab something to eat person you're going to have to order your food because places are not open up late. And they can be quite a walk sometimes.

Facilities: Everywhere you go on campus is larger than life. Whether you're near the stadium or the Thompson library or the RPAC or the student union everything is big and grand. But size is nothing compared to the state of the art facilities. They are truly advanced.

Facilities: Ohio State is a school with a lot of pride and support. You truly are part of something bigger than yourself. You are part of a community and you know that no matter where you are. I was on faction the summer going into my freshman year and i got a big OH- from a random person and i knew to respond with -IO. Ohio State has a lot of pride and that is something i wouldn't trade the world for.

Off-Campus Dining: Right across from campus are a ton of food options. A lot of which are chains though. If you are willing to take a bus down town then there are great places to get a nice dinner.

3 College Freshman

Nightlife: Ohio State is a big school so open parties are just not an option. If you don't know somebody who owns a house or if you don't have a fake. Well… you better get one of the two.

4 College Freshman

Campus Strictness: The administration is not down your back. They realize that we are college students and are entitled to our freedom. But certain things are illegal and they will not tolerate those things.

Health & Safety: The campus police do make you feel safe. They campus is always lit so there is no walking around a dark campus at night which also makes students feel more comfortable.

3 College Freshman

Local Atmosphere: Columbus is a city but nothing like cities on the East Coast. There is a nice strip of shops and places to eat right across campus and they take money off of your ID so that is a major plus!

Athletics: Ohio State athletics are a big pride of the school. Of course Saturdays in the fall can not be matched but the school spirit does not die when football is over. Basketball also has a lot of support and hockey is growing.

Transportation: The CABS system is very helpful. There is even an app to know what stops are near you or when the busses are coming. It takes a little while to learn which bus to take but it is GREAT!

5 College Freshman

Athletics: We had a 24 game winning streak for football. Football basically reigns over everything.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: You just have to be aware of your surroundings. Dont be stupid.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I live on north, and in an honors dorm. I should have lived on south, that is the true hub of campus life and nightlife.

3 College Freshman

Diversity: The campus is diverse but that doesnt mean it is not segregated.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Ohio State football is a big deal all across campus and all across the country.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
