Drug Safety: You have the occasional weed smoker on your dorm room floor and the pot head that smokes on the oval at night but overall you never see drug and alcohol being used on campus. High Street which runs parallel to campus gets pretty sketchy at night though.

Greek Life: You can't rush until second semester of freshman year, but the Greeks do a lot of scholarship stuff around campus and raise lots of money for they're philanthropy. Sorority and Fraternity row always has some kind of party going on and they are very loud.

Academics: Workload all depends on the professor. There are a lot of fun GE classes to chose from as well.

Transportation: Campus buses are free for everyone and public buses are free for students.

Campus Strictness: Campus is not very strict. Unless you do something to harm someone else you will usually get a warning.

Majors: When choosing an engineering major at OSU you always get exposed to all the different disciplines. It really helps you choose a major.

Campus Housing: I have lived in three different dorms, each has offer different things. Last year lived in a brand new state of the art dorm, but rooms were very small. This year live in an upperclassmen dorm much older, but it is nice to have a room to myself.

3 College Junior

Diversity: People here usually hang around people with the same interest. I have been able to make friends with a lot of people who I wouldn't have a chance to do if I didn't attend college.

Local Atmosphere: Had a job off campus last year, but I very seldom venture off of the campus area that much.

4 College Junior

Academics: I have always had very good studying habits, but the workload can get over bearing at times, have trouble finding internships, classrooms are nice. Over all I am having a great experience here.

3 College Junior

Transportation: I am from the Cleveland area, and there are quite a few students here from the general area, so it is easy hitching a ride home,

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: The main concern for me is at times there can be a lot of non-student on campus causing problems.

3 College Junior

Scholarships: I have received a lot of help as far getting help for applying for aid. And have received aid from the school.

3 College Junior

Campus Strictness: School and staff are very active in enforcing schools policies.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
