Guys & Girls: no girls – As a girl its common to check out competition, and at OSU there is none! Literally there are two guys to every one girl! All my friends are guys some good looking and some not, but they seem to be a lot easier to find then a normal or decent looking girl.

Facilities: Interesting People – The activities board gets some of the most amazing people to come to campus. This year they got Bob Saget, Bo Burnham, and Conan O'Brien and that was amazing. Plus people hear are really friendly. Anytime we hear "Carmen Ohio" we all hug each other and sing together.

Weather: Sometimes Nice – Winters can be brutal with snow. Classes only got cancelled once this year. But the rest of the year is wonderful. There are plenty of trees around and areas to just sit outside. You can go by the Oval and see about one hundred people sun bathing.

Local Atmosphere: Columbus: the Big Town – Columbus is a big town with a lot of intersting aspects. It is the capital of Ohio, so it holds a lot of importance for the state. There is also the Columbus Crew stadium home to the MLS champions. If soccer is not your cup of tea there is a NHL hockey team. And if sports in general are not your favorite there are tons of other things to do. There is the columbus zoo ran by Jack Hannah or the Nationwide Arena that holds huge concerts. So whatever you like Columbus has it.

Off-Campus Dining: I like most options especially Asian food options.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: There are several gyms spread out across campus, which means that no matter where you live, a gym is conveniently located very close to you. The facilities are extremely nice and have enough space for everybody to utilize the machines/weights. The RPAC, located in the heart of Ohio State's campus, is state-of-the-art and is full of fun activities.

Local Atmosphere: Columbus Is Amazing! There is always something going on in Columbus. Whether they're on or off-campus activities, events are constantly popping up. No matter what your interests are, you will definitely find something at the Ohio State University that you will love and participate in.

Campus Strictness: Pretty Lenient – Strictness is pretty lenient. Students usually only receive a warning the first time they are caught doing something. Underage drinking in the dorms is the biggest issue. Students have to meet with the floor resident advisor to discuss the situation. I think it's very fair.

4 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: South Campus Is the Place to Be – The south campus dorms are great, especially since the bathrooms (hallway) have been renovated into individual privates! I never had to wait. North campus has mostly old, crowded 4-person dorms.

3 College Sophomore

Computers: Demand Too High – Although there are plenty of computers, etc. in libraries and various buildings all over campus, way too many people seek to use them during finals, midterms, and in-between classes. Bringing one's own laptop is definitely more reliable. The number of printers should be increased - at one of the libraries, it's almost impossible to find one! The network rarely has problems, unless someone is downloading.

3 College Freshman

Parking: Cars Aren't Needed – You can't have a car your freshman year, but there really is no need for one. We have the campus busing system and the city buses at our disposal for free. They can get you anywhere you need to get to.

4 College Freshman

Campus Dining: A Lot of Variety – There are numerous places to eat on campus and each has their on special menu. I could eat something different easily every meal of the week. Every entree, every side.

5 College Freshman

Facilities: OSU offers a vast number of student organizations that can include anything from special interest groups such as urban dance, karaoke, and gay support groups to social fraternities and sororities. If you like sports, you can play anything from flag football to ultimate disk or dodgeball. The campus also has special events that introduce different cultures and foods. Since I'm pretty much a geek, I plan on being a part of a special interest group called Dumbledore's Army which specializes in the knowledge of the Harry Potter book series. This is just a taste of what OSU can offer to anyone no matter who they are.

3 College Freshman

Weather: As it is Ohio, we tend to fluxuate a LOT when it comes to weather. It can sometimes be a long walk to a class so you have to be prepared for any type of weather. You definately can't go without an umbrella and some form of boots. We NEVER cancel class no matter how hard it snows. I think that's only happened twice in OSU history and it was established in the mid 1800s. However, during the spring and summer the main spot to be is on the Oval. There you can see people playing frisbee, setting up booths for different campus organizations, people tanning, or just sitting down in the shade of a tree reading a book.

4 College Freshman

Nightlife: A Night on Campus – There is a lot more to do during fall quarter as there are after parties for football games which can get a little rowdy, especially during OSU-Michigan game week. House parties are usually free and they are located near enough to the residence halls that you don't have to drive very far, if at all. There are a variety of clubs off campus that are both 18 and 21 and older. I recommend Newport Music Hall as it offers a variety of up and coming bands that perform in an atmosphere that makes you get close and personal with the musicians.

Transportation: Buses in Columbus – The campus bus systems and Columbus bus systems are the best ways to travel around campus and just off of campus. Many people ride bikes to classes since it's quicker to ride a bike than drive a car. A lot of people walk as well as ride bikes. The campus bus system is free to everyone and the Columbus bus system is free to OSU students with an ID. The Columbus buses travel all around the city and just outside the city, making travling easy.

Academics: Working Towards a Goal – I'm in the School of Allied Medical Professions, and only those who are accepted are allowed to be within the school. A lot of work is involved in order to pursue the professions within the school, since many plan on going onto Graduate School. The classes are smaller then the lecture halls and you get to work with professors one on one. We work right in the OSU medical center, so we have many options for jobs and hands on clinicals.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Typical Central Ohio Students – Guys and Girls at Ohio State are about like me, hair styles are up to date, music interest are similar - anywhere from Country to Pop, dress is American Eagle like, social life - movies, facebook, my space, and relationships - a lot just have friends they hang out with but some are girlfriend/boyfriend.

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Our football team is loved by almost everyone in the state. I am involved in the bass fishing team. I enjoy discounts on my equipment and opportunities to compete nationally

Diversity: I see so much diversity at Ohio State, sometimes it confuses students. I was raised to respect people and we need to teach more manners. We need to teach respect, modesty, proper behavior in public.

Off-Campus Housing: There are many apartments around the ohio state university. The majority of the apartments are run down. They are expensive and the landlords are making alot of money from college students with them. I wish they were remodeled regularly and subsidized somehow. Too many college students come out of college with debt from tuition but also debt from apartment renting.

Diversity: Campus Life – here are people of many different races and religions at OSU, but they comprise a negligible percentage of the student body. Most people here are white, and as a consequence, we have a reputation for being a school full of ignorant rednecks. We do have those types of people, but then again, this is the second largest school in the country.

Campus Strictness: There isn't much supervision. You are mostly on your on what to do with your life.

3 College Senior

Drug Safety: A Wide Mix – You get a wide variety of people. It really depends where you are and who you are with.

College Senior

Greek Life: No Clue – I am not involved in Greek life. It exists but I don't know much about it.

There is a reason the Buckeye Nation is considered to be so devoted; an overwhelming love for OSU is evident in student responses, and in the loyalty of alumni to their alma mater. Each person has his or her own reasons for loving the University, and there are quite a few of them. Some students feel that the academics are top-notch and have found exactly the programs they wanted; others lean toward the athletic success of the Buckeye teams, while some just feel that the friendships and bonds they have made are enough to make their tenure at OSU worthwhile. At any rate, everyone can agree that being a Buckeye creates a special bond between you and nearly 50,000 other students, which you will carry with you for the rest of your life.

Once you get past the sheer size of the University, it will really become a second home. After only a quarter of classes, you won't be able to cross the Oval without seeing someone you know. Ohio State is truly the smallest large university you will find. The people are known for their friendly attitudes, and alumni are scattered across the nation. If you choose to go to OSU, you're choosing a school with a name that's well known, both in the workplace and in the college community. Few students ever regret their time at Ohio State, and most consider their college experience to be among the best offered in the Big Ten and the country.
